If Michigan fans want to know the truth (they don't), there's a pretty good chance that a lot of their 3-star under-the-radar recruits are actually overrated. Not playing hurts some kids because they can't show their talent ... but it helps other kids because they can hide their lack of talent.
247 Composite just adjusted their 2022 rankings, and it wasn't kind to Michigan....

Two of Michigan's 4-star recruits lost a star, giving Michigan a total of twelve 3-star recruits ... that's twelve 3-stars out of sixteen total recruits (75%).

In addition, two of Michigan's remaining 4-star recruits have scores under 90.00, which means that they could easily drop down to 3-star status.

Michigan's average per recruit is down to 88.50, which is worse than Rutgers (88.73) and barely ahead of Kentucky (88.45) and Indiana (88.40).

Michigan is a Will Johnson decommitment away from a G5 recruiting class.
Michigan's average per recruit is down to 88.50, which is worse than Rutgers (88.73) and barely ahead of Kentucky (88.45) and Indiana (88.40).
Take Will Johnson out of Michigan's class, and their average per recruit drops from 88.50 to 87.79, which is almost unbelievably low.

Take Quinn Ewers out of Ohio State's class and the Buckeyes' average per recruit drops from 94.36 to 94.01, which is still an all-time great class.

JIM HARBAUGH, MICHIGAN

10043332.jpg

CBS Sports hot seat rating: 4 (start improving now)

247Sports national recruiting ranking (2022): No. 11 (No. 3 in Big Ten)

The 247Sports word: “It’s not win or go home for Jim Harbaugh yet, but it’s close. He was granted a new contract extension, albeit with incentives, but Harbaugh needs to get the train rolling in Ann Arbor. He has yet to get his team to the College Football Playoff or even the Big Ten Championship Game. If the Wolverines make the conference title game, Harbaugh could grant himself a longer leash, but at the very least, this team might need 10 wins at minimum to gain confidence back in the fan base. They have yet to beat Ohio State as well.” — Nick Kosko

Recruiting outlook: Michigan is trailing Ohio State and Penn State among Big Ten teams, but there is plenty of time for the Wolverines to make up ground. Skill positions on both sides of the ball headline the Michigan class up to this point. Will Johnson, Michigan’s lone five-star commit in 2022, is the No. 13 player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. Wide receiver Tyler Morris is another top 100 player the Wolverines have committed in the current cycle. According to 247Sports analyst Allen Trieu, Johnson compares to NFL All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore. “Great size and still growing. Has length, but is also filled in and looks like a prototypical outside cornerback prospect,” Trieu wrote about Johnson. “Good athlete who excels on the basketball court and has shown top notch ball skills on the football field. Has the size and ball tracking ability to defend bigger outside receivers. Has good technique. Smooth in his backpedal and transition. Smart as far as zone coverage. Has yet to time at an event or in track, so verified speed is one question mark right now. It is possible he will outgrow cornerback if he keeps getting taller and bigger, but at present, projects as a blue-chip boundary cornerback who will be an impact college player and have a good chance to be a higher draft choice.”

Just sayin': The article also profiles Scott Frost's recruiting position, etc.

If the invading alien army lands and hits Jessica Alba with their anti-lesbian mind ray, I might get lucky.

Which of us has the better chance? Me or Jimmy?
