But the seminal moment in his return was earlier, when they had a guy named "DeBored?" maybe.

I think it was after they went to the Rose Bowl in '04 and got smoked again. The DFBIA blamed it all on the old white guy DC and were convinced that Ron English coming back/staying on staff would lead to them finding their grail/returning to glory.
Close. It was Jim Herrmann. DeBord was the dinosaur OC and Llllloy'd primary Lieutenant who many of them feared would get the job when Carr retired. Herrmann was the crusty old DC and his 2005 defense got smoked by Bill Callahan's Corn outfit in the Alamo Bowl. He got canned and their newest savior, Ron English got the job for 2006.

The Ron English mania was 2006. He was promoted to DC that year and their D (again, stop if you've heard this) was squashing a bunch of rag dolls and ranked (I believe) #1 in the country coming into The Game. They heralded him a genius/savior and future HC. Then they faced a couple of real teams (tOSU/USC) and their defense got eviscerated to end 2006, then got torched by Appy State and Oregon to start 2007. Ron English - Genius Coordinator, as they like to say, was a mirage.

We could go down the line of their "savior" coordinators/assistants...maybe I will later.

Can’t leave out BARWIS!!

They acted like they were doing some revolutionary shit there, like every other major program didn’t have similar S&C programs

That was it!

They are amazingly consistent.

I think sometimes due to the sheer volume of stupidity that billows out from up there, we lose sight of just how dumb they, as a collective, are. These are the same mutants that thought:

- DickRod was going to come in and turn the B1G on its ear with his spread-n-shred offense. They insisted he wouldn't run his preferred 3-3-5 defense in the B1G (he did). Recruits were going to trip over themselves to play in his revolutionary offense at an elite program like theirs (they didn't).

- Brady Hoke was going to set things right. He was a "_ichigan _an" who was going to straighten everything out after the hick from WV set is so askew. He was gonna get the best recruits because "this is _ichigan, fergodssakes." He was going to take those elite recruits and man-ball the B1G into sawdust. Nevermind his < .500 career record. He has RESOURCES now.

- Harbrau just needs to get his guys. Then the results will come. Oh, what's that? He has his guys and is getting worse? Well, that's just because of bagmen and online classes. It's not fair. Jim's playing by the rules, everyone else CHEATS!

"DFBIA" might seem like a cute little nickname to some here and most outsiders, but anybody that takes the time to look at these retards can see it's an accurate designation.

_ichigan fan has no self-reflection, no moment of clarity. He has no accountability. Everything wrong with their program is due to some imagined outside sinister force conspiring against their irrelevant program.
Good post. I’m just amazed I didn’t see the words ‘slot dots’ or Fred Flintstone in there.

Just sayin': So far, other than Will Johnson (who is a legacy); scUM isn't doing real well in their own state.
