"The Brook" is Bolingbrook, where former Michigan CB/friend of the blog Todd Howard played and coached. They also sent 2016 LB Tuf Borland to Ohio State after Michigan chose to pursue Devin Bush instead. We'll have the full Hello post for McLaurin next week.

It’s the little instances of arrogance and stupidity that consistently shine through for them.

Ah yes, Michigan recruiting, definitely an area of strength from which to take shots at Ohio State.

They’re just picking and choosing up there and leaving scraps for everyone else.

In this day and age of players transferring for playing time, makes sense to load up on a ton of LBs and let them fight it out. Over recruit and process them. Now if only they would take the same approach with 300 lb DTs.

You gotta love how taking a notably large amount of LBs, while simultaneously pointing out they still don’t have any DTs, is somehow a good thing and not just another clear sign of the utterly disorganized mess of a recruiting operation Harbaugh runs.

"At #404 on the composite McLaurin is momentarily the highest-rated defensive recruit in the class..."

Sam Webb reporting tonight that UM is moving on from the Buddin recruitment because he's not ready to make a decision. So 8 months before NSD they are moving on from an instate 4 star they have been recruiting for over a year because he's not ready to make a decision. Instead he's going to let MSU or PSU make inroads at a school whose head coach hates Harbaugh. Great job Jim! You know what they say when you make 8 mil a year, just quit on recruiting kids when the going gets tough and find a 3 star whose best offer is Iowa State and take him instead.

This coaching staff is so pitiful I'm surprise I can even put it into words. Lazy ass grifters is what they are.

Someone told me today to be happy with competing with PSU, Wisconsin, and MSU.

Lloyd Carr was 29-6 vs those three teams. He won 5 big ten titles. He won a national title. He was 20-8 against top 10 teams. And at the time people thought he was underachieving!

The people who keep making excuses for Harbaugh are cult members at this point. It reminds me of the cult that exists in a sphere I will not mention but here's a hint they like wearing red hats.

Michigan's recruiting is pitiful. If people were being honest with themselves they know there isn't a [recruiting forum edit] chance in hell UM is beating OSU recruiting like this. Hell they might not even beat teams like Minnesota recruiting like this. UM football is dying before our very eyes and instead of demanding better losers who never went to school here keep making excuses and tell those of us who did to just suck it up and stop trolling. Ridiculous.

I highly recommend the thread, there is an extended back-and-forth about how Michigan was never elite in the first place. Bronxblue might as well be copying and pasting from our conversations on the subject.

WOLVERINES GO BACK TO CHICAGO AREA
Early Saturday afternoon, the Michigan Wolverines landed another linebacker in their 2021 class.

Three-star outside linebacker Tyler McLaurin has been considered a Michigan lean for a while now, and it all came to fruition this week. McLaurin attends Bolingbrook (Ill.) High School in Chicago, which also produced current Ohio State middle linebacker Tuf Borland.

McLaurin is the Wolverines’ second player from Illinois, joining five-star quarterback J.J. McCarthy. The Chicagoland area has been a place that Michigan has found success in with recent recruiting classes, and those connections helped them land McLaurin.

With his length and size, McLaurin should be a good complement to Michigan's middle linebacker commit Casey Phinney.

If this 5* QB has half a brain he’s going to see the complete lack of talent and size coming into the program and make some real decisions about his ability to be successful with a team like that.

I would be shocked if other coaches who are still sniffing around him aren’t pointing this out to him, frequently... and with each additional commitment.
