This is a great thread, and I have only one caveat, that isn't directed to anyone in particular. I think the "no disparaging recruits" dictum should apply to all recruits, regardless of where they've committed. Put the individual disparagement where it belongs, in the college football forum, after they've enrolled, or at least signed.

I’ve suggest other, say more appropriate, places for this thread. Romper Room or the Mill would be good. Frankly, I favor the Mill. Not kidding.

I began this thread because a lot of Michigan recruiting talk was beginning to pop up in the Shenanigans thread in the CFB Forum. And of course, there are no restrictions in that forum, so Michigan recruits were occasionally getting bashed.

However, it is not bashing merely to mention that a recruit is ranked #494 (or whatever). Let's face it - Ohio State has some lower ranked recruits as well. Even in our epic Class of 2021, we have the #349, #393, and #404 ranked recruits ... each of whom, by the way, would be in the upper half of Michigan's class. Just stating the facts....

Often times, it's not what you say, but how you say it. Stick to the facts, keep it classy, and we're all good.

Serious question: What’s the fun in that? :slappy:

I love to try to come up with innovative ways to make Michigan look bad - but I don't have to try any more. And I understand why the natives are getting restless.

Last year their class was weak. But in a class of 23 the worst it got was a kid rated #511 and one not rated at all.

So far this year in a class of 10 they have #580, #763, #949 and two not rated.

And while they do have 2 top 100 players in this class, the most recent of those two commits will be a year old in two weeks.

i'm shocked -- shocked, i tell you -- that ttun has the lowest percentage of players drafted among the aforementioned top 25. and among the top 20, it's not even close. only 2 programs in the top 20 aren't at least 10 percentage points better than ttun .

should it even be considered "negative recruiting" to point this out to recruits?

and then there's texas.
