Michigan transfer Jon Horford will finish his college basketball career at Florida, according to a report from ESPN‘s Jeff Goodman.

Horford averaged 13.6 minutes per game in his junior season at Michigan and the 6-foot-10 forward averaged 3.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game on 56 percent shooting. The younger brother of former Gator Al Horford, Jon will finish his career under Billy Donovan as well.

The addition of Horford, who is eligible next season since he is a graduate transfer, will give Florida more depth on the interior where they return McDonald’s All-American Chris Walker for a full season along with sophomore Dorian Finney-Smith and Duke transfer Alex Murphy, the younger brother of former Gator Erik Murphy.

Sort of interesting that with McGary history Horford probably could have stayed and gotten some major minutes but I guess who wants to stay at that school.

The whole Horford situation is pretty mind boggling. Probably guaranteed 20-25 minutes per game next season, yet goes to Florida where he'll probably see 5-7 minutes. His declining role towards the end of last season must have really bothered him. I wish him well.

Yeah, this departure for McGary - which probably was clear to be coming to the players on the inside - is what makes the transfer of Horford even more odd, the fact that he could play major minutes at UM next season. I guess he wanted to follow in the footsteps of big brother, and maybe part of it was he was convinced the team would be much worse next year.

Losing Stauskas, McGary, Robinson and Morgan all at once is too much for them to overcome. They might make the tournament next year but if they do it won't be by much, and they could very easily have an NIT type season.

Here are 11 notable performances from Day 9 at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas:

...

Nik Stauskas, Sacramento Kings | Grade: C-plus
Stauskas' making shots shouldn’t be news, so his hitting both of his 3-point attempts in a win over the Bulls isn’t particularly shocking, but the rookie struggled in other aspects of the game, mainly in court awareness on the offensive end. He struggled to create for teammates when dribbling around screens (usually a strength of his) and even passed up a late three to take one dribble in and sink a heel-on-the-line 2-pointer instead. It wasn’t a bad shot, per se; he just wasn’t playing to his strengths, a theme throughout Saturday’s contest. -- Katz

What a shock--the guy who, in college, struggled mightily to create on the offensive end anytime someone with decent athletic ability checked him, is now struggling with the even better NBA athletes. Who knew?

The Kings spending a #8 overall pick on Stauskas is going to be comedic gold.

I'm thinking it won't be gold for long. I'll be surprised if he's playing in a years time.
