I don't remember him being viewed as a lottery pick. Even after his tournament run, I remember him being discussed as a mid-first rounder. It was a risk, but even with this draft as deep as it is, if he had stayed healthy, he could have definitely played himself into the lottery. And after playing very well last March, there was reason to believe that was quite possible. The injury risk is one anybody coming back takes. However, smoking some chronic during the season and getting popped for a suspension is his own stupidity. I wouldn't be surprised to see somebody still take a shot at him in the 21-30 range based on potential.
Long range though, this season really hurt him. Kids that are still somewhat raw that come out after not playing a whole lot do not have a great success rate. Look at Byron (B.J.) Mullens and even Koufos. They've both contributed at points, but neither have come close to the potential they had coming into tOSU.
