My main objection was to the movement that gender is unknown or at least debatable and that entering the school system. I probably worded that poorly in my last line. I think that as people they need to be supported and protected but how do you avoid causing issues in the opposite direction while doing so? I don't envy the already difficult task of employment as an educator (or administrator).
I think it would be much better to save that for adulthood but I do not think that's going to be possible.
I think children act out in various ways, both harmful and harmless. I would consider young people with gender identity concerns (manufactured or otherwise) to be of the latter sort. I think the key is not to overreact to those young people and allow them to sort out their identity issues when they are more mature enough to determine why/how they feel that way.
I wouldn't educate them that's ok or not ok. Probably best to say it's an issue for adults.
Kids will constantly explore issues of their sexuality at a young age. Very rarely will you find a school-age person who is developed enough mentally to fully understand the implications of their feelings.
