Game Thread tOSU vs. Sparty, Sat 11/21, 3:30pm ET, ABC

Yea and that is going to be knock on this game assuming we win is that we win because cook was out. All the haters looking for fuel to put a big12 team in our place.

Yeah, I'm still waiting for some of those people to tell me who the hell ND has beaten. Navy?

I'm still confident that 13-0 OSU gets in with wins over Sparty, scUM, and Iowa. Getting those wins may be difficult, however.

So, call me not hip, but I never got into Breaking Bad. Didn't see it at the beginning, and could never seem to catch on in mid-season or after. So, a few days ago I decided to marathon the series on Netflix. Have made it thru the next-to-last episode.

Think I'll just let my dvr run on the 2nd half while I go back & watch the ending now. It couldn't be much more depressing than this score.

The OL can't consistently pass block, so the staff doesn't any slow developing downfield throws, fine. The there needs to be more than just 2 quick screens in the half if you're that worried about throwing downfield. They should be using parts of the '12 game plan with Miller and Marshall getting catch and run plays on the edge.

When they run the option, it's taking way too long to develop and it's a waste of a play. Same with the QB rollouts. Nothing's there, delete it from the playbook this game.

I have literally no idea what the offensive staff has done all year. None. It's the 11th game of the season and there's 5 plays in the playbook. There's no game plan involving all the playmakers OSU's supposed to have, and after every game it's the same talk of "Hey, we need to do a better job of getting our playmakers the ball".

Unless there is a big turnaround, it looks like our Defense is going to have to win this one for us. Good news is that all year long we have made the adjustments and been a 2nd half team. This is a defensive battle. I think 10 pts in the 2nd half might win this one for us.

That long pass to Braxton should have been the first play of the game. Instead, the Buckeyes let Sparty jam the line of scrimmage for the first 29 minutes. Result: 28 plays, 75 total yards, 2.68 yards per play.

Look for Sparty to go after Eli Apple in the second half. His coverage skills have declined since last year, and Aaron Burbridge beat him badly on two occasions.

Yeah, the defense can definitely do this, the problem is that this staff is terrible at Tresselball. The don't have the mindset, IMO. The WR screens are going to have to be used in the 2nd half for the O to just run some clock.
