The philosophy for what Urban is doing is true, but the execution is not.

It's shitty weather so the less you take the ball out of your QBs hands, the less chance you have of fumbling. Keeping it on the ground also eliminates the possibility of an interception and dropped passes. It's basic stuff.

The problem is they aren't executing it on the field.

That long pass to Braxton should have been the first play of the game. Instead, the Buckeyes let Sparty jam the line of scrimmage for the first 29 minutes. Result: 28 plays, 75 total yards, 2.68 yards per play.

Look for Sparty to go after Eli Apple in the second half. His coverage skills have declined since last year, and Aaron Burbridge beat him badly on two occasions.

Sounds about right to me. They have been beating our O line, mostly, but it's hard to expect something else with so little variety in the playcalling.
