Look at how much of CJs game Day held back... it's on full display in the NFL
I'd argue CJ held CJ back a lot on running front. Or does no one remember him bristling at being asked to take what's there in like in the NFL and his response was he's not a running back.

He's matured and got much better at deciding when to just take it. I'm sure Day didn't want him to run much but I don't think Day was telling him not to take a free 10 yards and a no hits

I think the staff has to own it’s a “miss” by the standards they have set.

You can develop Kyle to the moon and back….his talent level isn’t in same stratosphere as the aforementioned players named. Development can’t fix that….

That said, my assumption is he is our starting QB next year…which to be honest, isn’t very exciting. That said, I wish him nothing but the best.

McCord's problem is more that he just has not progressed in the mental aspect of the game at all. He still sees the field like he's a freshman in his first couple of starts. This was his 3rd year in the program and the scUM game was his 13th start. I don't think at this point he is ever going to see the game at a level enough where he can take this team to a championship.

It's flat out talent too though.....he isn't in same league as CJ, Fields, or Haskins in terms of arm strength. He really has to un-cork it to muster the arm strength we saw with ease from previous named QB's. Add in his immobility and it's just a step down from what we're used to seeing.

His arm is plenty strong. His footwork holds him back
