I disagree. There are still a lot of people who think that they're still kids and should be happy with a free education, and that they're still just college students

The intent of this thread is to talk about specific OSU targets that are in the transfer portal that we are pursuing, not the merits of the transfer portal generally. Nor does it include discussion of players leaving our program for the portal. Those topics certainly deserves their own threads, but it's not this one. Not calling anyone out because this whole subject area is a new animal, but let's try to keep this thread limited to targets we are pursuing in the transfer portal.

Re: Hoak is a native of Dublin, Ohio, just outside Columbus. He could also be an almost perfect fit for Ohio State.
Hoak posted the news to his Twitter account on Tuesday morning.
With Matthew Baldwin now in the Transfer Portal, the Buckeyes are now down to just two quarterbacks for this season: Justin Fields and Chris Chugunov.
Hoak is graduating from UK in May, so he will be immediately eligible to play this fall.
He has two seasons of eligibility left. He also comes from a family with deep Ohio State ties.
His dad, Frank Hoak, played at Ohio State under Earle Bruce. His uncle is Fred Pagac, the former OSU player and assistant coach, and his cousin is Freddie Pagac, an OSU linebacker from 1999-2003.
YIPPERS, he's the guy!!!

It's better than open walk on tryouts, I guess, but does this kind of guy really help you at Ohio State?
He's transferring from UK because he was passed over by a freshman last year and couldn't win the job this spring.
Good lord is this season screwed if Fields gets hurt.

Ohio State should be able to beat at least a third of the teams on their schedule with Chugenough at quarterback, assuming the defense is markedly improved from last year.

Kentucky graduate transfer Gunnar Hoak appears to be the top option, at the moment. He planned to visit Ohio State late this week, 247Sports' Patrick Murphy reported.
