Cincinnati Princeton RB (Miami OH commit) Jordan Hall will be taking an unofficial visit to OSU for the Ball State game.

Recently offered by Penn State. Missed his entire Jr season due to injury at LaSalle. Won the MVP honors at the Cbus UA camp in May. There, he ran a 4.43-second 40-yard dash, had a 4.12-second shuttle, a 9-foot, 1-inch broad jump and a 30.4-inch vertical. Add in a 10.72-second 100m time from track. Could be a steal.

Does anyone who follows recruiting know if Ohio State has looked at Roman Combs out of Lakota West? He's a huge DB/Ath who I saw get 2 interceptions against St. X in week 1 and either an int or fumble return for a 48 yard touchdown against Lakota East in week 2. Not sure what he did tonight, but they got another win.

He was the difference in Lakota West defeating Princeton in last year's basketball matchup, despite all the more hyped-up blue chip prospects in that game. I think he was suspended for the basketball playoffs due to something with his transfer (maybe from the Louisville area?), and who knows if Princeton wins the state title if Combs is back on the court for Lakota West in the playoffs.

I know he is currently committed to Purdue for football (over offers from Indiana, Penn State, Iowa, Illinois), but man, with those ball skills at 6'4" and about 200 lbs, he is a nice looking prospect, and a winner. Just wondering if those who actually follow recruiting have heard anything.

I honestly haven't heard anything but I'll do a deep dive to try and find out some info bc that sounds intriguing

Too put it plainly, hes not good enough at this time for OSU compared to the DBs they have coming in. Hes listed as a CB, but I think he eventually moves to S. But if he stays at CB, Malone is faster and more athletic and Carey has the tools to turn into a shutdown CB and also is faster and plays against the best competition in the country every week. TBH, Eli Johnson is a better version of Combs. They’re 1in apart in height, but same weight. Johnson plays in TX 5A, so he plays some top competition each week and also is known for his closing speed and ball skills but at a better level.

2027 college football recruiting class rankings: Top 50 schools

i
7. Ohio State Buckeyes
Previous ranking: 7
SC Next 300 commits: 11
Top offensive prospect: WR Jamier Brown
Top defensive prospect: DE D.J. Jacobs

The talent Ohio State has amassed -- and lost -- can be illustrated by the NFL draft, but the Buckeyes continue to work to add more impact prospects -- including explosive perimeter players and long, athletic defenders -- while also quietly stockpiling developmental tackles up front.

A key in-state add on offense is burner Jamier Brown, the next big name in the Buckeyes' receiver pipeline. A dynamic wideout and return man, he owns elite track marks (10.3 in the 100, 20.7 in the 200) and shows outstanding quickness, acceleration, burst and change of direction to go with his top-end speed. At quarterback, as with Julian Sayin, they have mined the state of California again, this time with Brady Edmunds, who brings a 6-6, 220-pound frame with classic pocket-passer traits, giving Ohio State another big, vertical-minded signal-caller. They're also investing heavily along the O-line with Kellen Wymer and Mason Wilt from in-state, Brody McNeel out of Virginia and Jimmy Kalis, out of Pittsburgh. Kalis was a standout performer at the Under Armour Next camp in Columbus this spring. Five-star Caden Moss is a big man with elite arm length and excellent lower body flexibility and feet; he can be a people mover.

Defensively, five-star D.J. Jacobs fits the Buckeyes' recent mold of long, explosive edge defenders such as former standout Chase Young. At 6-5, Jacobs has a good first step, range and bend, plays with pad level and can be explosive as a finisher. Coaches rave about his motor, humility and desire to refine his craft, giving him impact potential. Fellow five-star Marcus Fakatou could be in the mold of another former Ohio State standout DL, JT Tuimoloau, but with a bigger frame. On the back end, Eli Johnson and Angelo Smith add different safety body types -- Johnson as a long, 6-3 enforcer with range, and Smith, the younger brother of standout WR Jeremiah Smith, as a smaller, quick DB. Quinton Cypher (6-2, 220) projects as a physical inside linebacker who can anchor the middle of the defense.
