2024 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Kam Pringle is listed at 6'7 and 330 lbs... as a SOPHOMORE
Do sites ever list the kid's age? I ask this as my son had classmates who turned 20 not long after they finished high school. Their parents kept holding them back for athletics.

Not saying this about this recruit, just when I see these massive young men I wonder whether they 15-year old sophomores or 17-year old ones.

6-7 330 at 17 is still pretty large, no?
Absolutely. It's just more about how many more years of growth the kid may have and how colleges look at their ages when they enroll.

For example, my son had a classmate where D1 schools were interested in him. Then they found out he was almost 18 end of his sophomore year and backed away. They figured he was done growing and they were right.

I honestly thought it was common practice for some of these kids to be held back to advance more physically.
And honestly. 6-7 330lbs is huge for any age, even as a HS Soph. But lets not act like we haven't seen this before with Kiyaunta Goodwin being 6-6 330lbs in 8th grade!

Pnuts, many students (both male and female) are 'held back' by helicopter parents who want their children to mature more on the athletic fields. Have seen it frequently, but only for a year. More seems obsessive. Having your son shave in junior high school does seem a bit much. Could well believe that some of the 'overseas' students are held back because of grade level achievement lack. Kinda doubt the 'backing off' part, as kids, mostly males, continue to grow into their college years. We had the choice with our daughter, and a school board member asked us, 'would you feel better putting your 17 year old on a plane for college, or an 18 year old' and boom, game over. But parents will try to give their kids an edge whenever they want to.....as they should (in mho). Go Bucks!

Hartline with an offer to an unranked small town kid with no offers. He's so under the radar that he makes Olave look like a 5 star in HS!

The highlights are really good, for a kid who's by far the best player. And it speaks LOUDLY that he was at a camp with another IN WR, who is a 5 star, and Hartline offered him and not the 5 star kid! Kind of reminds me of Bryson Rodgers in '23, long, lanky with long strides which mask how fast he really is. I think a few more camps, and this kid will blow up
