2023 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

It's lost all it's momentum from the end of the Meyer era.

I disagree. 2019 the program looked rejuvenated and refocused. 2020 was a once-in-a-lifetime year where nothing was normal but the team still made the best of it. 2021 the warts started to show. The first half of this year things appeared to be back on track. But, everything grinded to a halt in the second half with the train falling off the tracks yesterday. I've lost faith in Day, but it doesn't look like he's going anywhere at the moment so I'm just going to have to hope for the best

'19 and '20 was the end of the Meyer era imo. We are saying the same thing.

That's fair. Those were Urb's players. Day did breathe fresh air into the program after the toxic 2018 season though.

Yeah, that's why I am using the Earle comp. A lot of new guys come in and breathe fresh air into a talented program when they take over from the old task master.

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to last very long and then the new guy has to go recruit, develop and lead his own guys [looks at '21 and '22 outcomes of The Game]

I believe this current regime has done a great job of recruiting but the develop and lead part is a serious question. Hartline being on this staff is also a humongous reason for the recruiting and developing successes we've had so to me, the other guys getting paid need to step it up!

Edit: didnt realize recruiting forum

Somehow we got our clocked cleaned on Saturday, but are potentially flipping recruits, while the TTUN wins handily and their best 2023 recruit Collins Acheampong is flipping to the U.

Even when they succeed there is some vibe that program is giving off that is hurting their recruiting.
