2023 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

One of the most coveted passers in the country, Snellville (Ga.) Brookwood Top247 2023 quarterback Dylan Lonergan dropped his final five schools on Friday afternoon, narrowing the focus of his recruitment moving forward to Alabama, Florida, Ohio State, South Carolina and Stanford.

“These schools definitely showed the most love and made me feel like a priority,” Lonergan said. “I got a great feeling with all the coaches.

“Thinking next visits will be officials to those five.”

Regarding the Buckeyes: “The offense might be the most quarterback friendly to play in. Coach Day does a great job with the quarterbacks. The baseball program also does well developing pitchers.”

Every national site and analyst...

Not sure who are the next RB targets now. Thankfully 2024 has better skill position players. Fletcher in the fold makes RB not a need, and they can take their time with the next RB commit
Never saw it, and this is proof they were all wrong…whoever every national site and analyst is. I am not surprised by this. I’m betting on Florida

If you look at literally any recruiting site, and even our recruiting team on BP all expected Young or Baxter(Wiltfong, Kurelic, Greene, Simmons, etc). Things happen in recruiting, we're all taking guesses on kids we don't personally know. And many of us are very surprised by this! But hey, it's looking like the '23 class is going to miss on certain positions since we had a very good '22 and there is massive talent in '24...

This is coming from a poster on 11W:

VERY interesting tidbit on Noah Rogers from UNC insider Don’t Callahan.. don’t remember if we knew this or not:

Two weekends back, Rogers and his mother traveled to the furthest of the aforementioned five, Ohio State, for its spring game. He had previously taken a "low key" visit to Columbus earlier in the year.

Here’s what Rogers had to say about Ohio State:

I like what they have going on up there," Rogers said. "It's a family environment. There's a lot of true love. And I like how their receivers kind of remind me [of the receivers] here at Rolesville [High] because we've always had a deep receiver room. I feel like playing with the top guys gets you better. I really did enjoy it. And, I did learn some things when I went there. [OSU receivers coach Brian] Hartline is my guy

I think Rogers is every bit as good as Tate and Inniss, and I'd be fine of one of them with Rogers and Rodgers

We can agree to disagree. We never even made a thread about him on this board. So I don’t think “our own BP” Team said the same. This isn’t about Young it’s about Baxter: also I’m not worried about RB recruitment we have a good one

Good point, on no thread. And also I fully agree on not worrying RB recruiting. We may not even need 2 for 2023, and just take 2 in 2024. But the portal will make things dicey and may need to take 2 in both years
