2023 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

I read that Eliano really likes Hartford and will “pound the table” for him.

Hartford visiting this weeekend, could be on Boom watch…

Also it’s great hearing about Frye hitting the trail, attending basketball games, calling parents, attending practices, etc. Because he will be seen as a great hire just getting Padilla, Montgomery and Siereveld. Throw in 2 more national ranked guys(I.e. Bisontis, Proctor, Shanahan, Kirkland, etc) and that would be a home run class

Bisontis is my favorite OL in this class by a mile!

I really like his film too,but I prefer Proctor, though either would be a MASSIVE get. OL recruiting is so hard to gauge because of the size advantage. But OSU has a great opportunity to land some very talented OL, and right the ship on the line for all of the talented skill position players being brought in

Proctor relies way too much on his size and strength, which works now, but at the next level it won’t. I watched his film and was not impressed. Yeah, he throws 190 lb DE’s around. But I see very little technique and his footwork isn’t very good. He has heavy feet. Not saying he can’t develop into a monster, because he does have ideal size. But I personally wasn’t very impressed. Again, I think he will be a very good player with the right coaching. But Bisontis is much more “next level ready” imo.

I see him being an OSU plan b, if wewant him. But a kid who UC would LOVE to land as a plan A
My point is I see more people like this getting offers that wouldn’t have in the past. Essentially a plan B but with a committable offer to have a base. Maybe not at a position like WR so you may be right about him in particular, but I see more Ohio guys moving forward. I add that I may be wildly wrong just my gut feeling

For those that know, is there a QB1 in this class that's been clearly targeted?

Not really in the know, but I think it's too early. Especially with landing Brown in '22 and have to see what McCord can do. '23 could be a stud or depth. NIL is going to make keeping multiple highly ranked QBs nearly impossible on 1 roster.

2 for the elite programs is still a must and won't change if there is a year between them, but agree that stockpiling 3 and 4 quality QB's on a roster is just not going to happen.
