2021 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Ohio State is hitting Maryland hard this cycle, especially on defense.

Goodwine, Mobley, Bradley, Johnson, Robinson, and Penn already hold offers.

Too bad we don't have any ace recruiters on the defensive side of the ball that is lights out at recruiting Maryland. Oh wait...

2021 rising tight end earns Ohio State offer

2021 tight end Michael Trigg took to Twitter on Wednesday afternoon to announce that he has received a scholarship offer from Ohio State. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Trigg is a two-sport athlete, also playing shooting guard for Seffner Christian Academy’s basketball team. The Florida product does not yet have a 247Sports Composite rating, but is rated the No. 41 TE by Rivals, and is garnering attention from some of the top schools in the country.

It’s going to be really interesting to see how in the world they make numbers work in this class. As of right now, Birm thinks the final class number will be in the low 20’s, and we’re already at 9.

QB- Done here, McCord is the man (1)

RB- they’ve got to add two (3)

TE- Hart is in. Is the staff good with a 3 TE roster featuring Hamilton, Royer and Hart? Might have to be (4)

WR- Two in, and they’ll take at minimum one more. They won’t turn Egbuka away at the end either. For numbers sake we’ll go bare minimum with 3. (7)

OL- Two in, and I’d expect at minimum two more (11)

DL- Sawyer is in, Hall will be. They’ll probably try to add another rush end and true DT at the very least. I’ll go bare minimum 4 here. (15)

LB- They’ll add one more to go with Carrico (17)

DB- The DB room is dangerously thin. I don’t see them going less than 4 more in addition to Johnson. (22)

So going bare minimum, we’re already at the current projected class size. Hopefully room opens up to go higher.

Numbers always find a way of working out. Its still crazy early. I wonder if the LB room gets thinner with the emergence of the Bullet.

As little as we use the TE, it doesn’t make much sense to me to add another so I hope that stays at 1.

19 Seniors.

Wade, Davis, Myers, Fields, Olave all eligible to leave plus injuries and transfers. I see more room than we have had for some time.

The number isn’t in the “low 20’s”.
Why do we have go thru this every year.

It’s going to be higher then that.

For Gods sake we have 19 seniors.
Unless you believe we will become the first school in the history of CFB to have no attrition look for mid-20’s.
If your going to compete with the SEC check your indignation with “roster management “ at the door.
