2021 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

For anyone worrying about the RB recruiting "issue" in 2020, 2021 has so many top flight RBs that are high on osu, that Alford should more than make up for losing on Knighton and Robinson. A combination of any of them would be an amazing homerun

It's also the easiest position to recruit and develop. That includes how quickly young talent can break through.

QB, OT are extremely tough and they did really well.
WR, CB is challenging and the first half was legendary.

To your latter point, I think CB/DB recruiting will continue to be strong moving forward bc of the coaching and development that occurs at OSU. The recent number of guys getting drafted and the success they are currently having in the league speaks for itself.

I'd be lying though if I said I wasn't a bit concerned about the depth of the position for the near future.
With the recent events that have taken place, the young pups are going to get thrown into the fire a bit sooner than the coaches may have liked. May put limitations on what they can do on defense and might limit the exotic pressures/blitzes they may have otherwise used, especially early on in the season (Oregon) or against better opponents, when you may have to go away from tendencies and draw something new up on the fly.

If you look at the top 5 players tOSU has a realistic chance of landing for OL, DL, CB, and RB and you go 40% for those to add to the guys already committed and it is a VERY solid class.

I’ll take those odds any day.

So, just taking random guys here:

Add Latham and Burton to Christman and Jackson for the OL............yeah that will work thank you.
Add Tumolau and Goodwine to Sawyer and Hall for the DL...........yeah that will work thank you.

and so on.......

This sort of gets at my point above. This class already has 2 studs on the OL and DL they are in the running still for a few more. Same for WR with the 2 guys already in the class not to mention last years haul......................That's a great spot to be in. It's just adding to the depth, not creating it from the ground level.

Needs to be a big year for the DL recruiting and it's shaking out to be one of our best classes since maybe Washington/Schutt/Spence year.
