Can see the reasoning behind Script's write-up, as well as the year around push to get the best talent in America on your team. Do have a question- are these 'blue chippers' ranked as to their initial/final HS ranking? Or are these blue chippers ranked as to league awards, all star teams, etc. In other words, is there a developmental portion to these rankings? Or strictly as to their rankings as to HSers entering college? Not entirely certain I've said this in the best way. Upper classmen is an easy view, being a junior or senior. But, to me at least, being a Blue Chipper can be a nebulous title, based on several criteria.
I think it’s imperative for any successful program to evaluate their current roster against any incoming class. And if your program is solely reliant on the HS class every year, then your program won’t be that good and the ceiling Is just making a CFP(I.e. Miami, aTm, Texas Tech. USC). Money will constantly have to go to teenagers looking for the biggest payday in many scenarios, but development is not very good putting a cap on the team because players aren’t playing to their full potential or their HS ranking was their ceiling, but yet they were paid so much from their NIL deals, that also leads to many of them possibly not getting better.Believe back in the day of 85 scholarship limit, was a much bigger issue than today, when shall we say, total # is liquid? Heard that coaches do sit down and pour over the positions, and position coaches talk about who's coming up, who's riding even, and who's not holding up their position, and might be when 'the talk' occurs, re playing time (now include NIL $). Have also read that position coaches start with the current players, and project them as to where their ceiling (?) may be, before the current/future recruiting season starts (that point in time is very blurred these days).
