I know we've talked a lot about Zion Branch, but I wonder if it's time to start talking about his little brother, Zachariah. 2023 class, on the smaller side, but I'm sure he's going to grow a few inches and put on another 10-15lbs before college. I'm sure the whole Pac 12 is after him, but wouldn't be surprised if Hartline comes calling

Too soon old, too late smart
Didn't realize Europeans EVEN played American football!?! See they've got the body sizes, easy to imagine that they've got weights, exercise equipment over there, but not the coaches, stadia, etc to play our sport. Canada has always sent a few, and Australia 'kicking school' folk got their training as rugby players.....anyone know more than this (probably pretty easy...). Thanks and Go Bucks!

Yes, please!
I think having Rugby in many of the countries helps with the basic knowledge of the game. But there is still a steep learning curve from playing an entirely new game(pads/equipment, positions, strategy,etc) and then trying to figure that game out at the highest level of CFB without playing the previous 12 years in pee wee, middle school and high school. There’s a number of guys with these similar backgrounds who get to the NFL and CFB, and have immense size and great speed, but have problems with what I listed.

Erin Dunston had already worked for three Power 5 universities before she became Ohio State’s new director of on-campus recruiting earlier this year.
Most recently, Dunston was the director of on-campus recruiting at Kansas, where she spent two seasons (2019-20). Before that, Dunston served as an athletics administration associate at Purdue and was a graduate assistant for football operations at LSU.
In her first three months of the job in Columbus, though, Dunston has seen an approach to recruiting at Ohio State that stands out from every other program she’s been a part of.
“All the coaches are involved with every recruit,” Dunston said while meeting with Ohio State reporters for the first time on Friday. “So it’s not just a position coach, it could be their coach as well as another coach that’s also involved in recruiting a kid or building that relationship. We focus heavy on the families as well, which I think is very, I’m not gonna say unique but it’s very different from what I’m used to.
“And I think Coach Day, he says tough love and you’re gonna fight to be the best version of yourself. And when we talk to these parents, that is the atmosphere that Ohio State has. And so we’re actually, it’s not a pitch, it’s what the atmosphere is and what they’re gonna walk into. And I think that’s the difference between other universities that I’ve been to is what we’re telling these kids is what they’re going to get.”
While Dunston started her career working in football operations, she ultimately chose to pursue a career in recruiting because she wanted to have the opportunity to work directly with athletes. And seeing the way Ryan Day, Mark Pantoni and the rest of Ohio State’s staff build relationships with players and their families is what brought her to Ohio State, where she replaced former Ohio State director of on-campus recruiting Tori Magers after Magers took a job outside the industry.
“I spent a lot of time scouting our opponents, which is good because now with this one-time transfer rule, now I have notes on every team we played,” Pantoni said on Friday morning. “I would take notes on other players so if they now enter the portal, at least I've graded guys and got the head start that way.”

Their strategy of only using the portal to fill immediate needs with impact players has been evident for a while. Will it change? Will Ohio State instead recruit fewer high school players and lean heavier on the transfer market?
At least as of now, Pantoni said, there won’t be any wholesale changes.
“We'll still go about as business as is because there's just natural attrition every year,” Pantoni said. “There's always guys, something happens you never expect. Maybe one spot, maybe two, but we're not going to try to purposely leave spots just because there's always going to be that natural attrition.”
