tOSU Recruiting Discussion

ICYMI, Birm brought up a few podcasts ago his feelings about there being a disconnect at IMG Academy between the school and Ohio State. Interesting to note, because he never brings things up on accident. He didn’t necessarily think it had anything to do with the staff there, but among the players themselves.

June is shaping up to be crazy at Ohio State. The visitor list is being updated almost daily in the pinned thread at the top of the page.

As if Wednesday wasn’t already a jam-packed day full of visit news in regards to Ohio State and the reopening of in-person recruiting coming in June, Thursday was off the charts with the amount of targets both committed and un-committed announcing when they would be in Columbus to see the Buckeyes. Quickly becoming the busiest month for recruiting Ohio State’s staff has probably ever seen, Ryan Day and his crew likely wouldn’t have it any other way considering they haven’t been able to host their top targets for well over a year now.

June is going to be a wild ride, but all of the news is positive — which of course is pretty much par for the course when discussing the Buckeyes and recruiting.

2022 visits galore!

Right now the first weekend of June is easily the biggest recruiting weekend of the month for the class of 2022. As it stands, that first weekend every single of Ohio State’s class of 2022 commits will be in attendance. The perfect opportunity for all of the guys to be together finally, it will also be a great chance for those said commits to do some serious recruiting of their own and potentially help add to their already top-ranked class in the country. With several of their top remaining targets from the class on their way to Columbus, surely the staff and commits will be doing all they can to stay atop of the nation.

Today was another example of the recruiting prowess, player development and the overall state of the OSU program. 10 players drafted(thats 3 years in 5 that at least 10 players were drafted) is a priceless recruiting pitch

For sure, having 10 guys get drafted is a great recruiting pitch. Crazy thing is I thought we would have much more on the first day (before the year I thought Wyatt Davis and Wade were sure-fire 1st rounders), but everyone seemed to slide. Obviously this is a total privilege/spoiled fan thing to say, but this year's draft probably won't have quite the same impact as when we had 2-3 guys going in the top 10. But having that many draft picks is just ridiculous and should be a great recruiting pitch.
