2018 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

And, since we're here, let's go ahead and check in on scUM's most recent recruiting pitch.....
During an in-home visit with Mission Viejo (Calif.) 4-star OT Jarrett Patterson, Harbaugh told Patterson something we haven’t heard out of him before.

“Coach Harbaugh talked about how he realized that he needed to fix some things (after the season),” Patterson said in an interview with TWL. “He said ‘I’m a different person coming into this season.'”

Wow, how low can these college coaches stoop?

So now, instead of directly paying kids to come to your school, we just offer your pops 500K-mil a year to get you to come to our school. And we are seeing it more and more: kids coming out of HS and their dad's who coached them at the HS level are getting college job offers. How is this not an NCAA recruiting violation?

I'd say make a regulation they have to keep them in a recruiting position and keep them 2 years. That way it doesn't punish people who are truly qualified but Alabama etc can't just give them some title. Head of player relations etc and hide them on staff that isn't regulated.

Satan might be going the Harbau (tm) route

If you think Satan of all people will sacrifice coaching quality to get a kid, you are sorely mistaken. If he is hired, it's due to his coaching ability, not his skill.

But I am inclined to believe Satan will string him along until the kid signs with a school. Then, adios.

I recall this happening with a player from Wayne who went to Alabama a couple decades ago.
