Any updates on Barksdale?
I think he could fill in on a couple of these positions.
Joseph? Or Avon?

Good point on#1 & 3Pretty much an even trade. Johnson has the benefit of being a possible corner, whereas Woodbey is strictly a safety.
Except that the DE class should've been Cox and Smith, and now it's Smith and Alex Williams. That's a pretty big downgrade, at least on paper.
QB is the one position where you can sign a kid fully expecting him not to be a contributor for three years. Jones is clearly the better prospect now, but in 2020, Baldwin might actually be the better player.
Getting Friday would definitely help out this class, especially because he was a Michigan lean for such a long time. They may yet add Friday as a signing day special.

The really fun part is that an honest school really can't answer whether they have a spot for them. They just take them now and then grayshirt them later after they've signed. This shift has created a world where "dumped a day before signing day" is a more noble scenario. What were the problems the early signing period was trying to solve, again?
Nothing to add but the fact that the early signing period has certainly made for a lot of drama.
Self-reporting and agreeing not to recruit the kid was probably the staff's graceful way to end a relationship that they no longer wanted to maintain.I figured, that story didn't check out. There were definitely other issues.
Going to give Herbie and the College GameDay crew the benefit of the doubt here. Regardless all the other ancillary stuff surrounding this recruitment, the NCAA rules are ridiculous.
