Next tier of prospects, downgraded based on their likelihood to sign at OSU:

***** - 01 - #1 RB - Najee Harris - likely sticks with Bama but OSU in the mix
***** - 08 - #1 CB - Darnay Holmes - likely Stanford but OSU in the mix.
***** - 09 - #1 DT - Marvin Wilson - OSU a late arrival, right in the mix, no one predicting they sign him at this point
**** .. - 41 - #3 DT - Jay Tufele - said OSU led late May. No one is predicting him to be in this class yet.
**** .. - 104 - #15 WR - Jaylen Harris - probably a buckeye if OSU pushes hard.
**** .. - 149 - #8 OG - Darnell Ewell - a possible plan B at DT if a spot or two opens up.

No mention of Clark or Sibley. Safe to assume that you don't see them in this filthy class.

Also, if you would, I'm curious how confident you are on some of these remaining targets on a scale of 1-10.

Clark is at the bottom as a maybe. Sibley is out, just not publicly.

I see. Looks like I missed the part on Clark. Kind of disappointing to see Riep and Lamont Wade as only a 5 but I think any of us would be hard pressed to view this class, however it shapes up, as anything but amazing.

Those were numbers for how confident I was that OSU would win, not necessarily percentages.

I don't think they're unwinnable, it's just that pa kids are always tough and Sparty is strong for riep. Osu might lead for both but there's room for doubt. If they landed riep, he would be their second worst rated db (of 5) but still a top 100 player. That's absurd.

Akers could probably be a 6 or 7, I just always worry about southern recruitments.

Smart to be cautious about southern commits but I feel really good about Akers. And I just don't see landing both Wades AND Riep. Would be great to have 2 out of 3. If I had to guess, S Wade still seems most unlikely to stick. Sparty is a real threat for Riep but I have to think if the staff put the full court press on him they would get the commit. L Wade seems to be playing the wait and see game. I don't see him coming aboard if the other 2 are solid.

My wildcard is Tufele. I'd sure love to get him on board as I don't see Wilson headed north at all. With the insane DLine recruiting we have seen in the past few classes, we haven't had an epic DT haul yet and if we could land 3 studs in fhe '17 class for the middle of the line to go along with Young.........wow.

All joking aside, as a guy who came up on OSU football in the 80's and got a face full of late Earl then full frontal Cooper, the JT to Urban transition feels like stealing.

Agreed! I was talking to 2 kids who are Buckeye fans and both are in their early 20s, and they didn't get when I talked to them about worrying about The Game every year. To them, The Game was a big rivalry, but they're used to constantly winning it. I had to explain to them the frustrations of the Cooper years
