Coach Beck is doing some phenomal work down there.
It also helps having Haskins already in the QB group from '16Looking to me like QB and DT recruiting is same situation to finish out the class. We take elite guys to add or nothing based on the '16 haul, expected '17 haul and the way things are tending for '18. It seems like it is Tate or bust at QB and Tufele/Wilson or bust at DT. I know there are more DT names but they appear to be a second tier group and with 2 good DTs in the class already and things looking good with guys like Taron Vincent in '18 it seems there isn't a rush to add another unless they are elite. Same story with QB when you have Clark already in '17 and things trending nicely for Jones in '18.
Haskins as a freshman who could easily redshirt seeing as how Burrow has developed. It also helps having Haskins already in the QB group from '16
Yes, there are a number that are, and I'm not sure why. I like his game a lot, and think it will fit the system just fine. The beauty of Urban's offense is the QB doesn't need a huge arm. But he does need toughness, accuracy, leadership and the ability to make plays with his legs. All things that Burrow can do, as well as Haskins. It'll be interesting to see if Clark can as well(or at least at a level high enough to make the offense efficient when he's behind center).Could not agree more. I think way too many people are sleeping on Burrow.
I still think Clark can do it. I thought burrow was being underestimated as a recruit and showed insane potential, not as much an athlete as a leader and solid all around QB. I think Clark is in the same mold. Neither will win the heisman, neither are Braxton or Deshaun Watson. Both are more like JT, get the pieces around them and let them makes the right decisions. None will win you the game without a supporting cast like Brax did or Watson has done for Clemson. At least that is how I see Clark.Yes, there are a number that are, and I'm not sure why. If either can be anywhere near as productive and as much of a leader as JT, than the offense will be in good hands for the foreseeable future.I still think Clark can do it. QB: Mond or bust. Martell won't be worth the circus, IMO, and Beck seems to really like Mond. I am on record saying I think we can afford to pass on a 2nd QB in this class, roll with Clark, and go hard after Jones and another possible QB/ATH in '18.
What are your thoughts on Martell now? Still somewhat down on him?Not sure I expect a commitment in June but by the end of the summer I think he [Tate Martell] will be a part of the '17 OSU class...
That is absolutely filthy.Very probable 20-man class for 2017
