Well, we're now past halfway to our possible total of 16 in the top 100, at least according to Scout. Chart is sorted in order of top 100 recruits:

Tate is winning us over at an awfully early stage. Every year I start off with some ridiculous projection that is overly optimistic. And we get a great class nonetheless. But this year, we're already past my ridiculous projections with no sign of stopping. After we add Grimes, Lindsey, Okudah, etc...it's just going to be one for the books.

Interesting question... I know I was pumped that tOSU got Block-O and TP. That 21-signee class was ranked #8 (247 rankings). It lagged comparably-sized classes of USC (20), Oklahoma (23) and Florida (23) and bigger classes of ND (34!), the Canes (32), Bama (32) and Georgia (25).

If things hold up I expect it'll be this 2017.

I totally agree! Before the 08 class hit campus I knew we had something special with the Block O and most importantly TP! I figured TP was a next level Vince Young, a mobile, big, strong armed DT QB. No knock on the 2017 version, but TP alone brought a ton of excitement as he was a kid that could take OSU over the top. And if not for tat-gate...

With all the talk about "greatest recruiting class ever" I took a look back using Scout. Below are some of the great classes looking at top 100 players, 5 stars and average rank. I included only classes with either 10 or more top 100 players or 6 or more 5 stars.

Alabama 2015 - 10 - 5 - 4.04
USC 2015 - 12 - 4 - 3.88
Alabama 2014 - 10 -7 - 4.04

I don't know who was coaching Florida back in 2007 and 2010 but he set a standard that will be tough to beat.

(I will ignore USC because we all know they cheated.)
