There's no doubt both Walker and Williams are very good running back prospects. That said, I think some fans are more concerned with the perception that our negativity is sour grapes rather than the evaluation itself. Who cares about what other fan bases think? Sometimes in recruiting, what once seemed like a good fit for both sides ends up being a bad fit once they get to know each other. It's ok to prefer an uncommitted player to a committed player. Both backs will probably end up being good college players and for the most part seem like decent dudes, but I can't help but notice one player is trending up and another is trending down.
Walker
Team Record 2008-2012: 36-15-1

- Joined a perennial winner and has gotten worse each season, both individually and as a team.
- Saw increased interest from a school he's very interested in, visited, put out a vague public message without addressing the team he's committed to, and then proceeded to show public support for the team he visited, which is also the arch rival of the team he's committed to.
- Received inconsistent, if not disappointing camp performance reviews
- Missed first quarter of recent nationally televised game for unspecified reasons
Williams

Junior YPC: 9.8, Team Record: 9-3
Senior YPC: 11.9, Team Record: 5-2
- Joined a perennial loser, put them on his back, turned them into a winner and has personally gotten better each year.
- Saw increased interest from a school he's very interested in, immediately publicly decommitted from his previous team and scheduled a visit for that weekend.
- Received positive camp performance reviews
Plenty of players go through struggles in high school and eventually have great college careers. However, if you're Urban and you've got a guy with one foot out the door who appears to be getting worse as spotlight shines brighter, you might be temped to just shut that door. When a person behind another door has similar talent, is constantly improving and handles his business like an adult, the decision to move on is almost a no brainer.
