tOSU Recruiting Discussion

I think they're looking at the remaining WR & DB prospects through the Tressel lens as speed guys. I think we'll only see one of them come into play if one of our current commits at WR or DB flips and that includes Gibson (I think the staff projects him as a future All-American receiver.) Because of EGW & Ward's versatility I think the staff can plug in any of Orr, Arnette or Hill & still have their position numbers where they want them. I watched Ward in the playoffs & was just as impressed with him on offense as I was on defense (he has really strong hands & goes after the ball.)

We have 2 spots left I believe and we have good chances of landing Hill and Warioboko. But that means no room for Gustin or Beckner.

Which two would you guys pick?

- Neither Gustin or Beckner would be shown the door, IMO.
- DaVon Hamilton is a "plan B", if they miss on Beckner. If DaVon commits this weekend, that means Beckner is going elsewhere (Mizzou).
- Wariboko is talking the talk, but many believe it's just that.
- @wadc45 nailed it a couple posts ago.....they're focused on WR (Hill), OL (Boulware; news today that Prince likely canceled this weekend), DL (Gustin, Beckner, Hamilton) & DB (Orr, Arnette).
- IMO, they'll be pushing the hardest for Hill, Gustin & Beckner.

Watching all of their films, I would like to get Beckner the most. Going to be an animal once he learns some technique. He is raw talent. Reminds me very much of Reggie White and Warren Sapp all rolled into one.

Whoa whoa whoa, slow down with out of this world comparisons. He's good, but comparable to 2 HOFers that we some of the best the NFL had ever seen is going a tad overboard

Okay, somebody help me out here...

http://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-...-updates-on-key-2015-visitors-and-more-on-the

Great writeup on the weekend from 11W, but this part has me confused:

"There's a possibility that some other big news about the 2015 recruiting class could come out of Columbus this weekend, but until I can verify the happenings and make sure all is well with disseminating the information, it will stay on the back-burner."

The article mentions Beckner, Hill, Hamilton, Boulware and Orr. So I would guess it isn't about them. And in the comments Birm says it would be positive news for the Buckeyes (which I would guess means a new commit, since he has been steadfast in being unworried about decommitments). Who else is left that was there this weekend? I can't even think of any potential targets that would make sense for this info, but Givler from Rivals has also been hinting about good news in the next day or two, so something good is happening with the 2015 class...

The only thing that would maybe fit the information would be an under-the-radar flip of somebody like Shaun Crawford or Larry Scott. That would fit with everyone keeping it quiet, but if something like that was going down, it would have had to have leaked right?

Or maybe some other player committed elsewhere that made a surprise visit this weekend?
