Perhaps the biggest recruit is going to be Washington because losing 3 of our front 4 will hurt (especially our two great DT's). At least if Washington comes back he'll buy us another year to pick up a difference maker in 2016 on the interior. I really believe Landers, Thompson, and probably Cornell will be inside. You add Schutt, Hill, Munger, and Sprinkle and we will be fine but we do need one of these back ups next year to make a move to solidify the interior.

Don't be surprised to see Bosa quite a bit on the Interior on long yard situations with Holmes/Slade/Hubbard as two of the ends. So Bosa will also slide inside some as well

Perhaps a defensive shift will happen as well? More of a 3-4 with having a Rush LB with something like this...

DE-Bosa
DT-Schutt
DE-Washington
OLB-Booker
MLB-Raekwon
MLB-Perry
LEO- Hubbard

Point being is there's lots of options but that said yes if there is one weakness right now our defense has it's on the interior. Also with the transfers last year of our two best speed ends our defensive line definitely isn't near what it was before hand. We need another difference maker on the DL soon.

Well said! I love what Johnson has done with the DL. An undersized Larry Johnson DL unit has many advantages like being technique sound, quicker and more overall fit. The unit has the power and longevity to match up against smaller quicker OLs while also being tougher and quicker than bigger and stronger OLs. I tend to think it's easier to work with a true DT recruit who already has the size agility strength and interior experience than to pack lbs onto a DE and see how it turns out. The staff will undoubtedly put their best effort in to land Beckner and I'm hoping we can win this up hill battle.

Now with Washington coming back next year I think our depth next year will be a strength along with having two top flight talents in Bosa and Washington

Gibson knows he would be coming to a team competing with at least 3 other QBs, all very close in age and he might be worst out of the 4 (not in a bad way)

I wouldn't say Clark. If you're worried about a guy 2 classes after you then you won't ever make it. But yes, if Guarantano does committee before early February, I could see that potentially weighing on him.

i would easily say Clark, a guy who's had an offer and committed since his sophmore year means the staff thinks alot higher of them then they do of any recruit at any other position. you dont offer someone that early and take their commitment on top of it without having big plans for them. and last i heard Guarantano is announcing this month
