Not just this class but the entire team and coaching staff should have a chip on their shoulder. We went undefeated last season and still have little respect from many of the top teams. And if we go undefeated again many will think its because of our "weak schedule and conference", I can't wait for this class and the entire team to prove the nation wrong. This class is shaping up to be great and should provide depth alongside last years class

I'm sure that's nothing against JT. Very, very few coaches would have been able to pull three Southern kids out of the heart of the SEC recruiting area on NSD. Maybe none other than UM.

I'd mention Woody, who managed to find some great players in the South - Corny Greene pops into mind instantly- but that was an entirely different South.

Coop managed to get kids out of the South, Southwest and California. Is Coop the coach that took Ohio State recruiting national? Seems like it to me and that Tressel backed off of that a bit. UFM has obviously pushed it to a new level.

Terry McLaurin
Dylan Thompson

Damon Webb

There is a crazy amount of talent there that Ohio State is targeting. I am sure they have been in touch with the coaching staff on who to talk with the most.

QB:
Kyle Allen
DeShaun Watson

Considering the staff landed Collier recently and he is actually going to be there as well, recruiting these guys might not work out so well- however, I am sure Ohio State is staying in touch with these two.

RB:
Joe Mixon
Derrell Scott

These are by far the top two RBs on my wish list and probably the coaches list as well. Hopefully the OSU guys can put in a ton of work here.

WR/ATH:
Curtis Samuel
Trevion Thompson

Samuel is probably the top guy on the wish list here and someone who the players are going to focus a lot of attention on. Thompson is not that far behind, although his spot may have been taken by McLaurin.

Johnnie Dixon
Ermon Lane
Josh Malone

I put these three down as persons of interest although who knows where they rank on the staff's board.

Austin Roberts

I am really liking how things are trending with Gesicki so I'm not sure how much focus will be on Roberts, but he obviously has been a target for the staff.

Damian Mama

I'm sure Knox is going to love this event but I'm not even going to pay attention to his recruitment until signing day; Mama will almost certainly stay out West. It will be good to develop those relationships, though.

DL:
Thomas Holley
Andrew Brown
Derek Barnett
Solomon Thomas

The biggest focus along the D-line is going to be finding a monster DT to finish out the class. Holley is a top candidate for that spot and another player that there will probably be a significant amount of attention on.

I think Barnett has some work to do to earn an OFFER; Thomas might be a guy that you pay attention to no matter what; Brown too.

LB:
Raekwon McMillan
Clifton Garrett
Dylan Bates
Nyles Morgan

McMillan is probably the absolute top target for the group- if he is not secretly a part of it already. :sneaky:

Garret is almost certainly heading south but events like this with plenty of face time with future Buckeyes won't hurt. The other two are on the radar.

It is interesting that there was some commotion this morning about the Glenville duo heading elsewhere. With this lineup for our recruits to work on at this event, I am even less concerned than I was before- which was basically not concerned at all.

BEAVERTON, Oreg. ? The SPARQ National Championship took place on Monday night, televised on ESPNU and was won by the fittingly monikered Speedy Noil. It was a deserving recipient of the championship considering Noil posted the most eye-popping number of the event: a 45.3-inch vertical.

But there were a number of shocking numbers produced in what was the most athletic SPARQ combine in the history of The Opening. Below we take a look at some of the most startling numbers of the day.

Kyle Trout
At 6-foot-5.5, 297 pounds, Trout stood out instantly as one of the most impressive offensive linemen from a physical standpoint.

Curtis Samuel
Considered by many to be an Ohio State lean, Samuel showed off 4.36 speed that could allow him to be a dangerous slot receiver for the Buckeyes.

Raekwon McMillan
One of the bigger more physically imposing linebackers, McMillon still had very strong testing results including a 4.15 shuttle.

One of the top all-around athletes in attendance, McLaurin posted a 42.1-inch vertical.

Dante Booker
Booker was one of the most athletic linebackers to test on Monday but also showed off some impressive strength. His 45.5 foot powerball toss was good for second best.

Nice list. I think Quinton Nelson is also one of the top targets there. He has visited and I suspect he is high on their OL board. I have heard he has been hanging out with the OSU commits. He is a ND commit, but you never know and I think OSU was runner up for him.

Dante is HUGE....I don't see how he plays LB. Hubbard's position is very much debatable which leaves us with just Berger as a true LB so far in this class. The staff must be very confident in McMillan because even with him that only leaves us with 2 true LB's in this class after just 2 in the last clas. We still have some serious depth issues at this position even if we land McMillan.

On the defensive side of the ball this year the LB spot is easily my biggest concern. I just can't move on from the fact that Boren had to fill in there last year and between last class and this one so far we have just 3 LB's, 4 if McMillan is on board. The staff was after Winovich pretty hard, do we have any other's we are still after? Like I said, we must be very confident in McMillan and even then it still seems like an awfully thin position group. Granted we are filling the spots with total studs, but still.....
