So... Tejas just had their 3 DTs in the 2014 class decommit. Any chance we try to raid one?

on a side note Tejas had 0 DTs in the 2013 class, now 0 DTs in 2014.... should be fun

Anyone care to opine on the impact of losing Vrabel to NFL on current 2014 and future 2015 recruiting? Read tweets from players (recruited by Mike) that are saddened. Anyone think we could lose some of the players? This came in out of the blue, so gotta think that Urb is doing damage control with those that were recruited by, or would have played for, Vrabel.......

This has reduced any confidence I had relative to Solomon Thomas.

But that is just an opine.

Any defensive player including Thomas knows the glaring weakness we had on defense. If the perception is that we made a huge upgrade by the new hires that's the most important thing to me. Vrabe was awesome both in coaching and recruiting. Losing him stings a lot but in 2 years if we have a dominating defense the ability to attract top talent will be the same if not better. Vrabe alone couldn't make us a great defense. Call me overly optimistic but if we land the right coaches something tells me our overall defensive recruiting will stay the same or improve.

In general I agree - but for Thomas specifically my understanding is that his tie to OSU was largely through Vrabel. His is not a recruitment where we can afford to lose any sort of edge.

One player to finish the class. Dream scenario. Here is mine. Texas says "screw it" we didn't make a home run hire for our HC but we will pay the $5MM buyout for landing Chad Morris. DeShaun Watson gets cold feet and switches to tOSU at the last minute making it the biggest late game flip of Urb's career. Yeah, I know this will never happen.....but like I said if we only landed one more player that would be my dream scenario. Wanna see a guy absolute LOSE IT....make that happen and I will show you one.

Except for the fact that Watson is already enrolled at Clemson.....
