tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Gesicki isn't a position of need currently. We need all the help we can get in the secondary. Rogers and Roberts are great talents at positions of need.

Agreed, gesicki is a luxury. Having Baugh makes us able to wait on a TE until 2015, and there are a number of elite guys in that class(with cj Conrad and Chris clark heading the list). It shows this year that we need LB and DB depth. Booker, Berger, Hubbard and McMillan have greatly helped our LB depth, especially since we only play 2 at a time most of the time. Adding Rogers or Roberts would help in the cb or s department a lot. I am more partial to Rogers, but would be fine with Roberts as well, both play in talent rich states and have played against great compettition and are rated quite high and I think our staff could coach them up

I think it is kind of interesting to see what the crystal ball is saying for tOSU, for the odds of each player ending up in Columbus. It is kind of sobering.

I bet what Meyer may say to the above, couldn't be posted in the recruiting forum.

Outside of Thomas, none of these percentages is any surprise. Roberts/Rogers more than likely end our DB commits (after the glenville guys, of course) and Brady Taylor probably is our last o line commit. Any other commit is icing on the cake.

So, who maybe might be that recruit that commits that is way out of left field?

Depends on how far left field you're willing to venture. WAY left field would be guys like tony brown, malik mcdowell and juju smith, RB also named some left field names that possibilities. And at this point we can't totally rule out mike gesicki and (to a lesser extent) thomas Holley.
Last years left field pulls of James Clark, vonn bell, dontre wilson and Donovan munger show that this staff can pull rabbits out of hats that us avid fans don't even know about until it happens. It's such an awesome feeling knowing your staff on NSD could pull an elite player that fans hadn't heard of until weeks before

Whether we're talking about another OL or a recruit out of left field the thing we need to remember is the coaching carousel hasn't stopped spinning yet. You can bet between head & position coaches coming & going Coach Meyer & Co. will be ready to pounce on any left tackle or high level recruit that is given a reason to waiver on their current commitment.

This class can't be real. I'm having a hard time believing that this is really happening. Every hole on the current roster is being filled to overflowing. The defensive back 7 help is unbelievable. We are filling in the G slots of offense beautifully and I really believe that Trout will be THE next great Olineman at tOSU. We even picked a QB out of nowhere that is a ridiculous athlete and surrounded him with so much speed it's almost stupid. How can this be really happening? The BiG 10 sucks doesn't it? Why would these guys want to come to a BiG school that "chokes in big games" according to all of the media outlets? Is this a massive trolling effort by all of these recruits just to get our hopes up and dash them all on national signing day? It can't be possible that this coaching staff can put together this kind of class while we're on probation, struggling to stop anyone on defense and failing to get a conference or national championship, can it?!?!

How freaking sweet is it to be a BUCKEYE!! :urban2:
