To add some onto what Muck put together, which is some amazing work!!

Something I tend to maintain for my own personal use. I posted some of this a few years back, and out of the sheer thrill for how this class ended up, I thought i would post it again. Enjoy.

...and then some additional info as well (scholarship counts and player bio stuff).

Shouldn't there be, at the present time, 13 spots open for 2014 since we are currently at 82 and there are 13 seniors? (edit: Erm, nevermind. Clearly you are counting the two 2014 commits as part of the 13 spots)

Also, I know the word is that Jamie Wood is a medical casualty, but he is still listed on the roster at the official OSU site, whereas Connor Crowell is gone.

Oh, and amazing work. Great job.

At least, there could be transfers, injuries, or resignations.

freep - Michigan signee Reon Dawson: 'Until I die, I'm gonna be a Buckeye fan'

2/7

Wow.

Reon Dawson, a football recruit who signed with Michigan on Wednesday, says he maintains his affinity for archrival Ohio State. A lot of it.

?Until I die, I?m gonna be a Buckeye fan, even though I?m going (to Michigan)," Dawson told the Dayton Daily News. "When we play (OSU), I?m gonna still bring my ?A? game. But I love Ohio State.?

Dawson, who's from Trotwood-Madison High in Ohio and is teammates with U-M signee Mike McCray, said he "never did see" himself committing to the Wolverines during the recruiting process. But he flipped his commitment from Illinois to U-M on Jan. 14.

A three-star recruit, according to rivals.com, he did not have a scholarship offer from OSU.

And now he has quite a start to his U-M career ...

Until this moment, I've never ever liked a Michigan football player. Reon has changed that.

Anyone who knows this stuff better than I do want to take a stab at the 2013 depth chart? Really curious about the WRs, LBs, and DBs, and how the new class will fit into those units.

Really early since these kids haven't stepped foot on campus but I will CLEARLY label this as a speculative guess as to how the two-three deep could turn out and is in no way intended as a disrespect to any of our players here. With that said, I will bite (2013 members in bold):

QB: Miller, Gution, C. Jones - I agree with Herman...we arguably have the best QB in the nation and the best backup. J.T. learns behind two great ones and all the while gives himself plenty of time to rehab, which is ideal.

RB: Hyde, R. Smith, W. Ball, Elliott - We have a stacked backfield. We all know Hyde and Smith are great backs. Ball had a great summer before getting injured and UFM loves him. That being said, Elliott is such a dynamic player and seems physically ready to play that I have a really hard time ruling him out of some role for our offense.

Pivot (Harvin spot): Hall, Marshall, Wilson - Jordan Hall is a leader and people tend to forget how great of an athlete he is, so I still think he gets the bulk of the work in this hybrid role if he is healthy. That being said, Marshall is a match made in heaven for this spot and in no way can you keep him off the field. He is my pick for biggest freshman impact this year. Then you have Wilson who is such a homerun threat that it might be tough to keep him out of the equation. Note: Hall will get some carrries as a traditional RB as well imo.

WR: Philly Brown, Spencer/Clark: Have Clark and Spencer side-by-side...Spencer has shown some things here but Clark obviously brings the burner speed we don't have with the others and if he picks up other necessary skills (blocking, more precise routes, scheme, etc.) he is going to get a lot of PT imo. If nothing else, get him returning kicks.

WR: D. Smith, Thomas, Fields- No surprises here except I could see Clark getting more PT than Thomas or Fields (conceivably), although he will have to develop as a complete receiver to do so. Plus I think Thomas is a future stud and will get a more prominent role this year if he works at it.

TE: Vannett/Huereman, Thomas: Vannett is a great athlete who can also block and Huereman is a great blocker who can also catch. Those two are the solidified starters. Now Thomas is intriguing to me and I see him playing a prominent role moving forward. Baugh will be a star here but looking at him from a physical standpoint, he needs a year with Marotti to physically get ready.

LT: Mewhort, Baldwin- No freshman here, this spot is set.

G: Norwell, Underwood/Munger- I could see Munger coming in and pushing past Underwood in the two-deep. We will need Munger ready to play after Norwell and Hall graduate, so I wouldn't rule out PT for Munger occasionally to get him some experience.

C: Linsley, Boren- No freshman here.

G: Hall, Farris, Gardner- Put down Gardner here but I anticipate a redshirt. With the position change, I think Farris needs to get more work here for now. Plus the staff loves his potential on the OL.

RT: Decker, Dodson- Decker has this spot locked down imo. Lisle is a great player down the road but a year in the weight room and learning the scheme will do him good. We will need him ready to play next year after Mewhort, Norwell, Linsley, and Hall all leave (I think he can play guard or RT).

SDE: Bennett, Bosa, Pittman- Alot of this has to do with how the staff wants to shuffle the DL to get the best 4 on the field at one time (hence Bennett at DE when I think he is a better DT). Regardless, I see Joey Bosa getting a TON of PT and right away. Kid has all the physical attributes, smarts, bloodlines, and above all attitude. Plus he is equally adept at rushing the passer as defending the run, so he is not a liability on any down. I put my personal guarantee on Bosa being a standout on defense this year and gets rotated in heavily.

DT: Schutt, Carter, Price- Staff said Price is ready to go from a physical standpoint and I agree. I think we have two future studs in Schutt and Washington inside. Then you have Hale with some experience but what he brings to the table is yet to be seen. Carter is a specimen but we need to see how he has progressed. With that in mind, I think we see either Price or Hill in the DT rotation this year. Sprinkle needs time to develop in the weight room and work on getting a more explosive first step.

DT: Washington, Hale, Hill- DT spots are interchangeable but Washington is a guaranteed starter at one spot in my book, whether it be DT or SDE (allowing Bennett to slide down). See above for Hale. Hill is interesting to me and alot depends on his rehab. Hill brings great size and tremendous athleticism...typical SEC-type DT that brings a skillset unique to the position. If he is healthy, I think we see Hill make noise purely on God-given ability alone. If he grasps some of the scheme and puts in the work, look out.

WDE/LEO: S. Miller/Spence, J.T. Moore, Grant: Spence is about to break out as a star and Miller has a lot of potential, plus Moore has some experience. Then Grant just got moved down. For that reason, I think Tyquan Lewis either redshirts or plays special teams.

OLB: Shazier, Perkins, Lee: Spot is locked down. Just put Lee here because I think he will be a special teams contributor in a big way.

MLB: Mitchell, C. Williams, Roberts: This is my one really bold pick. Williams is still preparing physically and mentally for the MIKE spot. After moving Grant down and Crowell gone, we frankly just don't have anyone else to play here. Beyond that, Mitchell has all the physical tools, football smarts, instincts, and bloodlines. He will make mistakes for sure but I think he is our guy moving forward, unless Williams really steps up his game.

OLB: Marcus, Perry, Trey Johnson: Taking a big leap here to take Marcus over Perry. Perry has a lot of potential but if it clicks for Marcus, he will be impossible to keep off the field. If not, Perry keeps his spot. Johnson could be a MIKE as well but I think he either plays special teams or gets a redshirt to fill out physically.

CB: Roby, Burrows, Murray- Roby has the spot locked down but I think Burrows has enough ability and is physically ready to get some playing time, whether it be in the defensive backfield or special teams.

CB: Grant, Reeves, Apple- Grant is the frontrunner for sure, but it will be interesting to see if any of Apple, Burrowns, Conley, or Reeves can make a run at the spot. I'm not so sure Apple doesn't redshirt otherwise to put on some muscle mass.

Star: C. Brown, Bogard- I think Brown did a pretty good job last year but I could see any of Hell, Bogard, Apple, Burrows, etc. to split playing time with him. I see Worley and Lee as contributors down the road, but not this year unless it is special teams.

FS: Barnett, Bell, Powell- Barnett upped his game at the end of the year but he better up it even more if he doesn't want to split time with Bell. I like C.J. alot but Bell is just too talented to keep off the field if Barnett regresses back to how he was playing the first half of the season.

SS: Bryant, Bogard- No surprises here...I think Thompson redshirts if he doesn't play special teams.

K/P- Basil and that is all we know.

KR: Wilson, Clark/Marshall- Dunn and Smith did a solid job but I think UFM wants two guys who can take it to the house. I think Wilson was so attractive especially for this role.

PR: Philly Brown/Bell: People forget how special Philly was as a punt returner. That being said, I could see Bell getting a chance back there too.

Aren't you forgetting someone? (Initials C.S.)

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Bennett & Washington both at the 1, 2, 3 technique for a lot of snaps. I'm not sure there's really an every down monster 2-gap guy on the team right now.

I also think Trey Johnson is farther along mentally than Mitchell. He was asked to do a lot more in HS than Mike. However the individual positions shake out a startling corps of Shazier, Perry & Johnson wouldn't shock me either.
