Game Thread tOSU @ Indiana, Sat 10/3 @ 3:30p ET, ABC/ESPN2

Because JT has been bad this year. That's why.

So now I have to get involved in the QB conversation.
That's not exactly fair. JT grew into the QB he became last year. He got better every week in general. The same can't be said for Cardale. IMO if JT had been the starter up to this point this offense would be clicking.

My thoughts...

1. This team is flawed to the core right now. Too many penalties (the big kind too), the turnovers are disgusting, and now all the sudden the Defense can protect a lead when we have all the momentum.

2. I don't get this staff, their objectives, or their reasonings behind things. First they scratch the basis of our offense to go to a pro style? WTF is that. Urban is a zone read, smash mouth, and play action to make you pay sort of offense.

Then we roll with a guy who hemorrhage's turnovers at QB, who's suppose to have this huge arm but has vicious accuracy issues, and worse of all don't even throw deep. Then we ask CJ who's slow to run option football. We show no confidence in CJ and basically make him hand off for the last quarter due to his propensity for the killer turnovers.

Every game we've had the announcers make a comment about how we randomly stop attacking teams with what works. EVERY. GAME. Zeke goes 55 to pay dirt and then the next drive we throw three straight and punt (with a short field no less)

3. I have no issue with playing either QB. However if UFM had to change his entire philosophy on offense for one player then IMO you know he ain't the answer. What is Cardale this year? 5td for 5 int? He gives you NOTHING on the ground and perhaps Zeke will make it to the end of the year if our QB is a threat himself to run on a keep. Perhaps Playacation works with the threat of a running QB? I will leave the QB situation at that.

Bottom line I dread the scum game at this point. Do you guys realise how bad this offense is going to get shut down against them? This isn't a "the sky is falling" post... We aren't getting better anytime soon and I mean that guys. This is who we are. A team with no feel, rhythm, who can't stop turning the ball over, who take 15 yard penalties 2 times a quarter, and a defense that is constantly put in bad spots by our offense.

Personally I would invest in a true OC next season

Alabama has a loss. Ol Piss and Miss State have losses. Georgia has a loss. USC and Stanford have a loss. Oregon has two. Texas had 50 dropped on them. Brian Kelly is turning purple. I like where the Bucks are. I wish the offense would it figured out. I wish the dbs would cut down on the penalties. But 5 - 0 beats the alternatives

1. The offense can't expand a lead either. We had plenty of chances to run away with this game and just never did it. Play calls mismatched with the wrong personnel. Players disappearing from action, where was Samuel today and Thomas was hardly targeted let alone our TEs.

2 & 3 This all day, with a team built for power and speed and with no major deep threat other than Thomas, I am stupefied by the decision to go with Cardale. I really have to wonder if there is somethino with JT that we just don't know that has kept him from resuming the No. 1 spot. The offense is just disheveled at this point.

I would make sure that Warriner takes care of the Oline, ditch Beck and bring in another QB coach and play caller.

Right now meatchicken would take our lunch money and MSUs for good measure...

I remember saying the same thing early last season about Herman and I ended up being very wrong. I hope we end up the same way this year. On a side note, I think dontre Wilson has earned more touches. He seems to be the most active guy on offense outside of zeke and thomas.
I don't get the whole "this happened last year" mantra because it certainly DID NOT. sure VT shut us down but we then rolled every team progressively worse every week after. We had two weeks were we struggled (the first two) but then really started to build on good performances with the occasional hiccup like Pedo.

I fully believe JT shouldve been the guy just from a leadership stand point and IMO he will be the starter by years end. I have no reason to believe that the offense is going to magically not crap out every game.

It does seem that we aren't getting better. The hallmark of a championship team is improvement.

That's not entirely true. OSU struggled against a shitty Ped State team, an average at best Indiana team and a mediocre Minnesota team last year. Hell, it was only a one score game against those cocksuckers up north until late in the 4th quarter. Last year's team did do a better job blowing out MAC teams and the like though.
