Game Thread tOSU at Wisconsin, Sat, Oct 16, 7:00 ET; ESPN

First off, props to Wisky for a good game plan. Second, OSU got taken behind the wood shed. If this is what builds character, we ought to have plenty to go around.
I've got a question. Does our O-line zone block, or man block? It seems like Wisky put a hat on a hat, and OSU didn't. To many guys busting through on running plays.
Props to Dane for giving his all! Not to sure bout the other OSU receivers. Maybe bad passes. Lot of dropped balls.
This one was a hard lose to take. Regroup and grow.....

Not scoring a TD from the 2 or converting Sweat's i pick let Wisconsin keep their MoJo. Lack of depth showed tonight ..we need more competition on the OL..so we can improve rather than become stale..losing playing time is a great motivator

There were a lot of coulda, shoulda, wouldas in this game. Those two non-TD drives were big, but there were missed opportunities everywhere. I'm still shaking my head that we went three and out in the 4th quarter down 10. That drive was huge and we got zero yards and punted. Ball game.

Bottom line IMO was that the team wasn't ready from the get-go. Falling behind 3 TDs at Wisky was just too big of hole with their ball control style.

Last time the Bucks played this badly (last year at PU) they rebounded with intensity. Here's hoping we see that attitude emerge again this season and finish strong. There's lots of senior leadership to right the ship...so not all is lost.

White and Clay also ran with reckless abandon. They didn't stop to look for the hole. They ran and when they got hit, they still moved forward. That's why they were able to get 3+ yards almost every play.

We had the same thing when Herron turned it on in the 2nd half.

Good morning, BP. What a great day to be a Buckeye!!!

It's time for a fresh start and there's a lot of work to be done and a lot of lessons to be learned. I hope the team and coaches are energetic and hard at work!

Could I add that BP isn't like the other boards because of the posters here. Granted, Grad21 was a whackin' heads last night, but I have checked in throughout the day and I did not have to remove one post or become visible as a moderator in any way.

Yesterday was an extreme disappointment for Buckeye fans. Well done to BP posters for the way that you accepted that disappointment.

I just hope that the team makes all of their remaining opponents pay for that lesson yesterday and that they return the favor next year.

Wisconsin is well known for holding, but they just got whipped as a team. Maybe if OSU had strung together more drives that stalled with penalties there would be something to that, but they just got beat soundly for most of the game.

Yep. Wisconsin held as much as they always do, and was called for it as little as they usually are, but this wasn't a close enough game that it was the difference. They just played much tougher than OSU on both sides of the ball, which was a huge disappointment. Here I thought our O-line's strength was pass-protection, and Terrelle was dodging sacks all night, and our D-line was supposed to be one of the best in the country and they hardly pressured the statue of Scott Tolzien.

Man, tough loss but it needed to happen apparently. This was clearly not the #1 team in America. I want to blame the d-line for getting man handled but physics is on the 320lb o-lineman's side. Also, were our receivers unable to get open against the Wiscy secondary or was Pryor staring down a single receiver? The running game was actually working fairly well but Pryor looked injured to me. He didn't look explosive at all when he ran. His mechanics looked off too - almost all passes were wounded ducks. Injuries are killing us too. Anyway, I would still bet on us winning the rest of our games and having an awesome season.

After replaying the game in my head, it sucks that what could have happened based on missed scoring opportunities, would have been a 32-31 win. (7 instead of 3, Missed 3, and 7 off of the INT)

Oh well. I think that KO return set the momentum. It shell-shocked the OSU offense in their first few series (perhaps the whole 1st half) and fired up the Wisky offense to just pound the OSU defense into submission. Why not? 1) it was working, and 2) they had a nice 7 point (gift) lead. Wisky game plan had shades of Tressel there, use what you have at your disposal, control the pace of the game, and keep using things that work. Nothing fancy, just get it done.

Off-topic: Did I hear Brewster is OUT at Minnie?

I'm not being a Suzy Sunshine or any of that crap but perhaps I have rose colored lenses (or man love? God I hate that term) or whatever you want to call it for Tressel. But the thing that made that whole horrible mess worth watching, to me, was seeing Coach Tressel seek out Scott Tolzien to congratulate him.

THAT, my friends, takes a MAN! How many coaches would do that after a disappointing loss like this? I would say 1 in a million is about right.

We lost on the field yesterday but we won in the end. I'll go to my grave KNOWING Jim Tressel was the best coach and the best thing to ever happen to The Ohio State University.

Congrats Coach! Just when I think there's no hope for this world, you go and prove me wrong!
