Game Thread tOSU at Wisconsin, Sat, Oct 16, 7:00 ET; ESPN

Fuck 'em. All we can do is win the rest of our games, and we'll do it.

In all honesty, this was the ONE game this year that concerned me. My thoughts were if we win, we're playin' for the crystal football. If we lose, we're gonna be right in the thick of things at the end to be tossed in a BCS bowl because we're gonna win the rest. Those feelings have not changed.

I don't see another team on the schedule that really has the tools to beat us.

Let's just call it as it is...we got beat tonight. I hate hearing all the bs commentary about we should have run more or should have passed more. We lost...they played better....simple as that. The KO return set the tone for the game and we didn't respond very well and the rest is history.

It happens....

Well, let me suggest reading other threads then because those are exactly the kinds of things that the people who don't get banned in this thread will be talking about for as long as the discussion remains active.

Some people prefer to look at it with a little more nuance than, "they won, we lost, they were better." That's how we deal with it.

I pretty much agree. But, JT has no gameplan for when his team is in a hole. The announcers always compliment him for not panicking and giving up on his plan. Well, shit, sometimes you need to throw the book out the window and just try to win the damned game. I thought the end of the first half was one of those times. Either hang some 7's on the board or go down trying. They ran 3 slow developing plays on the goal line and I don't even know what to make of the playcalling after the INT. Overall, I appreciate Tressel's approach and think it is the perfect for winning Big Ten Championships. But once in awhile, I'd like to see one of his team's play with some urgency when they are getting their asses handed to them.

I was bothered tonight by the coverage on the swing passes. In the past Ohio State has shut that type of play down consistently. I'd guess that there were two factors that came into play. First Ohio State was stacking the box. Secondly, the injuries and inexperience in the secondary are a factor IMO.

It was also tough to see the defensive line outplayed. However, I'm not sure how many teams coming up will not only average 320 across the line but will also play a large portion of the game with two tight ends bookending that line.

When Homan went out we lost that coverage ability.

I don't think we really had that coverage ability going into this game.

Chimdi got beat bad on some really simple out and ups and he was our best bet at keeping this game between the hashes. Ross definitely made a difference in the secondary but I don't think it was nearly enough. Tolzien made a handful of perfect passes in this game and was the beneficiary of some outstanding play-calling. As dominant as the run game was for Wisky, if our secondary was a few notches better this game is very different.

I really don't have a huge problem with Tressel's game management, no one's going to call a perfect game play call wise, but I don't think he made bad decisions managing the game. I mean lets not forget that we came back to make it 21-18 and then couldn't get that stop that we needed on defense. The game plan gave us a chance to get back into the game, the execution just wasn't there.

Just got home from watching the game. Very disappointed of course as a lot of people are. I thought for sure we could come away with this. Unfortunately, a lot of our players thought that also. Swing passes/screens , running game of Wisconsin killed us right from the beginning. Quite frustrating to watch.

Pryor was off on some passes early but got back on track. Seemed like none of our recievers couldn't get open. Offensive line for the most part I think did a good job. Brewster got killed on a couple plays.

Our Bucks just fell behind too early and it hurt. Painful loss for sure. We'll still be in it at the end of the season though. I don't see us losing another game. :oh:

I would rather lose to Michigan than Wisconsin. I really would.

Ok there is my one post on the football boards for the season. See ya'll next year

Not even close. You must be too young to remember the "lost decade"(ie Cooper era), or the "EARL" game, or the "'cuz I couldn't go for 3!" game, etc,
etc.
Guess you're spoiled? or bored? with The Game because we've won a few
lately? A Whisky loss worse than a scUM loss? No way in he!!! Maybe if we
kicked the wolveweenies arse 50 years in a row? Nah, a loss in the 51st would
still be worse.

Not even close.

Frack Bucky!! But scUM STILL SUCKS!!

should have utilized Hankins from the start of the game. We gave up too much size with Williams in the game. A d-line of Simon, Hankins, Larimore and Cam would have been better. Take Rolle out of the game and put Williams at Outside LB. Make them beat you with the pass. I just did not see the adjustments on the defensive side of the ball that we are used to. It seemed when Big Hank was in the game we managed to control the line better. Just my 2 cents
