Game Thread tOSU at Sparty - Sep 29, 3:30 ET, ABC

Eastern Michigan had Sparty in their house until a dropped 1st down pass that would have given them the ball inside Sparty's 10. An incompletion and a sack after that and Sparty takes it down and scores and that's the game. I'm sure the performances from the last two weeks for both teams will serve as a wake up call. Hopefully the Bucks come out on top

6-3, Sparty.

Herbie shits his pants after the first Bell/Simon collision. Musburger spends the 4th quarter cursing and insulting mothers because he was sure the 'over' was the darkhorse bet of the weekend.

Herbie and Musburger will probably be calling the ABC night game.

I do wish the B1G was stronger this year though.

That sentiment is, I suspect, conference-wide.

I saw an MSU fan post this on one of their boards yesterday in reference to Gameday being there for an obligatory appearance for what they must think is the biggest game of the year in the BIG:

"OSU and MSU are the smartest retards riding on the little bus we call the BIG."

I think that quote sums it up nicely.

Some tidbits from Dantonio's teleconference courtesy of BCast at theozone. Especially like the last one regarding Miller:)

Dantonio throws out Devin Smith, Philly Brown, Evan Spencer, Stoneburner, Hall and Hyde as guys who scare him OTHER than Braxton.

Dantonio likes where his defense is at, but he's concerned by the lack of sacks and turnovers the Spartans have created.

Dantonio said Braxton Miller is different than Denard Robinson. More like a tailback who can throw the ball.

Dantonio says LB Max Bullough reminds him of Matt Wilhelm. Very versatile LB who could play TE if he wanted.

Dantonio said he regrets going away from the run in 3rd quarter against Notre Dame. Have to be who they are.

On excitement of OSU game. "I guess I can hardly contain myself." Also says crowd "has to stay positive through thick and thin."

Asked if he was upset by the boos, Dantonio said no, can't control it. Mentioned boos at OSU for Buckeyes last season.

Dantonio on William Gholston, said he expects him to practice fully this week. "He'll be full go."

Dantonio on the punt return situation. "I don't have any problem putting Le'Veon back there because I think he's got great hands."

BUT, Dantonio said he expects Nick Hill to be the punt returner Saturday.

Asked about Urban Meyer pedigree: "There's a lot of great coaches ... and the one who left 2 years ago won a national championship as well."

Dantonio on not facing a close friend: "It does make it easier. I know Urban, good guy and all that stuff ... but it does make it easier."

Dantonio credits Alabama coach Nick Saban with influencing a lot of the stuff he does on defense, especially when he was at OSU.

Dantonio on defense: "We're getting pressure on the QB, we've got to sack him more." Mentions no one has driven entire field to score TD.
Dantonio, asked how key it will be to contain Braxton Miller. "Well ... I could say next question..." Then: "He's like a TB who can throw."

I could see us winning by 14, or losing by 14. Or anything in between.

A larger margin of victory by either team would really surprise me.

Im going for a large margin of victory, if we do win.

Our offense doesn't struggle in the red zone and our defense is extremely good in holding other teams to FG's in the red zone (if not a turnover).
