Game Thread tOSU at Sparty - Sep 29, 3:30 ET, ABC

Liked hearing Coach say we need to "attack the blitz in the second half". Need to make them pay for their aggression.

Is hall coming back?

Doubtful...looked like he hurt the tendon in his foot, IMO.

This game is why the country hates the Big 10 too. Just a very ugly half of football. You can say the defense was solid, but it's more than that. Dropped passes, QB's who can't make more than 1 read, QB's who don't know how to run a read option, inaccurate throws.

It's just very very very ugly.

Let's win it ugly though...much better than a loss.

MSU like urban said is blitzing non stop right now. I wish we could execute a bubble screen or just a regular screen for that matter because it'd probably be a big hitter.

Defense is playing great and I feel we're getting some good pressure on cousins as long as we rush 4 guys', we just have issues when we only send 3.

Offense had such a great start attacking the edges and now thats no longer there. Have to adjust and I believe we will, if we score another TD it'd be very tough to beat us with the way MSU is playing on offense.

Cousins huh? LOL:oh:

Thoughts going into 2nd half:

We have to adjust to all the blitzing and make them pay. Call a screen play or two. Roll out Braxton.

Our two turnovers really hurt us. Could be up by 10-18 pts without the turnovers. The second turnover really hurt.

Our only TD occurred when Guiton was QB...interesting.

Our Defense hasn't given up any big plays. More gang tackling and better tackling has really helped in stopping Sparty.

A defensive struggle right now. But that is to be expected.

Whoever makes the best adjustments and executes wins this game.

Here's hoping it's the good guys.

Thought it looked like Jordan was pointing at his knee the first time he came to the sideline?

Very pleased with the D so far today. Offense? Not so much. I know Sparty has, probably, the best D we'll see all year, but at some point you have to do something to exploit all the blitzing...

Yeah I like the side to side passing plays, but they had to mix it up, throw some downfield and intermediate routes. Also, they need to figure out a better way of running other than these option plays because Miller is just keeping them and either running into tacklers or fumbling and making risky pitches.

The offense needs to execute and stop shooting itself in the foot. That's on Miller's shoulder. I've been easy on him with some of the bad plays that he makes, and he's still young, still learning, but he needs to step up and start making the smart, right plays in a tight game like this. Miller should be able to execute the game plan and drive this team to the endzone. I don't care whether he has 4 TDs or no TDs at the end of this game as long as he executes and leads this team on TD scoring drives. He the talent and ability to do that, he just needs to start making the right throws, pitches, and plays.

Defense is playing well right now. Still getting lost in coverage, but tackling better. I'm not that mad about the DL. I wish they were getting more pressure, but MSU is content to throw to the flats and screen the defense and unless you completely shut those out, you won't be able to do much about that.

Also, I'm really disappointed in Dantonio and the way his guys are playing. Pretty consistent amount of hits after the play is over, trying to take out Braxton on the sidelines early on...he's better than that. There's no need for trash like that in this game.
