Seriously, can we not pass the ball farther than 5 yards?

In fairness, I think the throws are there to be had. The better question would be, why does Braxton lock on one receiver and never get past that progression? To take his skills to the next level, he really needs to develop as a QB who can beat you between his ears...not just with his legs and arm.

There are wide-open targets all over the field...he just needs to find them and deliver it.

I agree, just thought it was funny.Of course I'd be a big fan of being able to make adjustments before the second quarter.

Yeah. I recognize that there is still a learning curve. I recognize that we don't quite have the weapons to run this offense to its full potential. That said, continuing to almost exclusively run the read when Braxton clearly still struggles with it isn't smart, IMO. I'm not saying totally abandon it, but you have to go downfield a little to keep the defense honest. Hopefully we see that in the 2nd half. Right now, we're just seeing a horizontal version of "DAVE".

Yep. I'm hoping he starts to have some series in which he shows us the flashes that Smith did later in '05 when he finally starting seeing the field and making good throws.

I forget if it was someone here or on scout, about this type of game is why people hate the Big 10..

well, the WVU/Baylor game is the reason why I hate the Big12, i'll take a good defense over a video game offense any day

I think Sabino, Pittsburgh, Johnson, and Roby are all playing very well right now on defense.

Bottom line is if we continue to turn over the ball we'll lose, if we stop turning the ball over I think we can get outta here with a win.

I was thinking the same things myself. I think it's disguisting having such a lop sided team as far as talent. Like Texas Tech with Leach, and Houstin with Sumlin.

Games with that 24-21 score I think are the funnest types to watch. Just enough offense and just enough defense.

I'd like to think there's a happy medium in there somewhere, but if it's one or the other I agree. Games like Baylor-WVU are like most NBA games - they trade scores for 3 hours, so just turn on the last 5 minutes and see who wins.

Even something behind the blitzing linebackers and in front of the secondary would make me happy...It has to be there. Either a WR on a slant or a tight end have to own that spot.

MSU like urban said is blitzing non stop right now. I wish we could execute a bubble screen or just a regular screen for that matter because it'd probably be a big hitter.

Defense is playing great and I feel we're getting some good pressure on cousins as long as we rush 4 guys', we just have issues when we only send 3.

Offense had such a great start attacking the edges and now thats no longer there. Have to adjust and I believe we will, if we score another TD it'd be very tough to beat us with the way MSU is playing on offense.

Sparty only had 3 sacks coming into this game so they aren't getting pressure unless they blitz. Hopefully, we'll burn them deep a couple times this half.
