Game Thread tOSU at Nebraska, Sat October 8, 2011, 8 pm ET, ABC

Quick update-

Was at the game, and the momentum shifted when the strip happened, although you could feel the Husker confidence when Brax went out.

As always, a tale of two Taylors- the second half one is the one that Nebraska fans are used to from last year. The fake option, throw-back to three levels of drags/crossing pattern is one that I wish OSU would run.

Great to connect with a number of Buckeye fans from across the nation- knapple and BB73- thanks for including me in your morning activities.

If Husker fans are treated like anything other than visiting dignitaries, in light of the kindness and generosity that Buckeye Nation was shown today, it will be a tragedy.

Well, that one hurt.

Painful, painful loss.

Just remember though guys... its the games like this that remind us just how special it is to win a conference title or a national title. We've got a young team... we're gonna take our lumps, maybe take a few on the chin, but we'll be better for it. These guys learned a lesson tonight the hard way, and I don't think it's one that they will be forgetting any time soon.

Agreed. It's like the players are trying to get Fickell fired. I imagine they don't need to help, but they sure as [censored] shouldn't be trying. As for Bollman or whoever, if they didn't have the balls to say that when we were winning and JT was here, don't [censored]ing say it now when it's easy to pile on.

Umm, they did say it. Numerous times. They've been saying it for years.

Every week, I become more and more impressed with Tressel's coaching ability. He won at an 80%+ clip with one hand tied behind his back. If he had an OC worth, well, nevermind. If he had a good OC, people would be talking about him as the greatest of all time.

I hate the 'what if' game, but I can't help wondering what would have happened if he would have just come clean in December...

Time and change indeed. I've accepted the fact that the Buckeyes are simply not a very good team this year. (Understatement.) But, quite unlike in years gone by, when I got very frustrated and bitter, I've realized that I can actually LAUGH about this year's struggles, because seasons like this at Ohio State are so few and far between. (Least amount of losing seasons since 1936) Ohio State fans, quite frankly, are incredibly spoiled. So I just tell every one of the haters "you better get your licks in now, because this isht doesn't happen very often."

If he can still walk in a couple of years. The problem with Braxton is that he's fearless, and that leads to him being beaten like a pinata. It's fun watching him juke people in the open field, but he's got to learn to take what the defense is giving him then slide or he's going to get killed.

If he stays healthy the skys the limit.

We all criticized Pryor for constantly going out of bounds after a QB run (planned or not). We would call him names and say he's scared.

I guess we all have seen how being fearless can put your team into a big, BIG bind.

We just need some sort of middle road between the two. We dont need any more of this next week:

Finally finished digesting what just happened and walked up here to say this....

What the [censored].

Nothing to be upset about just think about the rest of the season and how we played with Braxton on the field. The Injury was just a fluke and probably won't happen again.

Edit: Happy thoughts Happy Thoughts Happy Thoughts

I don't think he was a fan of Bauserman being in the game instead of Guiton.

And I say that with LOADS of sarcasm. Dude was freakin' [censored]ed.
I don't think anybody is a fan of that ever happening again. Bauserman just isn't any good. I'd say, personally, he's probably the worst I've seen under center here. He just doesn't have the arm, pocket presence, or intangibles to effectively lead an offense against a good team. As others have said, at least Guiton has legs. The coaches need to select an identity and go with it. If we're going to run the ball 75/25, there's no reason for Bauserman to be in there at all. The problem is, they're flip-flopping formations so much, there is no identity and it's pretty much a cluster[censored]. Braxton may be raw, but at least you have to respect his escapability. Not so with Joe. Just send the house and dare him to not throw it out of bounds.

This staff, I'm sure, is aware that they're on borrowed time at this point. That worries me. If they continue to force Joe into the game, it's going to be really hard to watch or care anymore this season. It's the definition of insanity. I know this game doesn't rest solely at his feet, but the offense was comically inept with him in there and the hopes of mounting a drive and slowing the momentum were basically negligible. You could see it in everyone's body language that they felt the same way on the field.

I don't know what's up with the LB play either. The DL was doing their job, but poor tackling in the back seven and the LBs regularly being out of place was shocking to watch.

Also, don't get me started on punting instead of trying the FG there. They NEEDED to be up two scores. Nebraska had just driven 80 yards in two minutes the previous drive and had ALL the momentum. Good God. I can't remember the last time I was that [censored]ed watching a football game and I'm a Browns fan. :shake:

This is the kind of game where coaches totally lose the players. I'm very interested to see the demeanor this coming week. I just hope Braxton's okay or things could get scUM ugly.
