Penn State is always a banger. And after a banger - the hangover.

The Buckeyes cleared a big hurdle Saturday night in finally admitting the Nittany Lions into the Five Straight Losses to Ohio State Club that already claimed every other B1G program as a member. Hooray, high-fives all around (no high-fours in that club, not anymore).

Unfortunately, Penn State in the rearview mirror reliably means there are icebergs, right ahead. Ohio State's post-Nittany crises have ranged from uncomfortably choppy to outright disasters.

Another great article by Ramzy Nasrallah, don't suffer a "Penn State hangover" and let Nebraska be a trap game.

Hopefully Li’l Red will be saying ‘red light’ when the home team has the ball, and ‘green light’ when the Buckeyes have it.

That is funny. "Hangover", but they won every game. ok

Was wondering if the physical nature of the game would leave guys beat up for Nebraska. Doesn't seem too bad. I think the defense might struggle at times, especially with Chambers out in the 1st half, but hopefully the offense buckles down and puts up a great performance.

What's weird about that one is that PU was 6 for 17 on 3rd down conversions in that game, which is below their season average. When you hold a team below their average 3rd down conversion rate, AND you hold them to 116 rushing yards on 41 carries (2.83 ypc), AND you get nearly 4.5 ypc yourself (not great, but a lot better than the other guys), AND you have 9.28 yards per attempt through the air to only 5.18 for the other guys...

Yeah... the time of possession, the number of plays, and ultimately the final score come down to one number. The number four. Four interceptions. Three all year up until that game. Then 4.

And you're still on the opposing team's message board the week of the game.

Respect. Nebraska fans, you chief among them, deserve better.

I come over here for sanity. This is what I have to deal with. This is a conversation between a buddy of mine and me about the current football team:

Friend: Again, one half of football where they were behind and playing catch up. Look, the offense has been subpar, obviously. The fact still remains that they play harder and are not getting outmatched by elite teams anymore. They had chances to win every game they played against 3 teams in the top 10 of the CFB rankings. Two you could say they should've one. I would take that over them getting routed and having no hope at all.

Me: But saying "we lost close" is still saying "we lost." Doesn't matter how you lose - did you lose? Losses = loss of revenue

Friend: Not when you compare it to what was happening with previous coaches against elite level teams.

Me: So you're saying that Frost deserves to keep his job because he's not getting blown out by teams?

Friend: I'm saying that the program is in better shape then it was and if Trev decides to keep him for another year it wouldn't bother me.

Me: I see

Friend: It also wouldn't bother me if he gets fired for not being able to get over the hump in those games.

Me: And you're basing the "better shape" on the margin of victory of games?

Friend: No, I'm basing better shape on what I see on the field from a physical and playing hard point of view.

Me: I guess I'm looking at this much differently than you are

Friend: With Callahan, Pelini, and Riley the teams were physically outmatched. They were destroyed walking into the building with good to elite level teams. This team is not. This team can keep up with them. Now, their are maddening mistakes that are happening that need to be fixed either by this staff or another, but they are closer then they were before.

Me: We'll see in about 24 hours, 17 minutes

There is a part two of this conversation...
