So even if you're laying on the ground, you can be bouncing the ball between your legs and hands after the catch until you wrap it up and its complete? I've never seen something like that called complete. Is a player not down until he has control of the ball?

Yes. You can. It's all about the ball hitting the ground so long as he's in bounds.

That's ALWAYS BEEN the rule.

Come on fellas. It's halftime. Last I checked, the game isn't over until the clock hits 00:00. Keep playing solid D, continue to pound the ball and we'll be alright. Someone will make a play.

Play the five star recruit at QB. The older guy is just a safer way to be inept.

We aren't good enough overall to win with a game manager at QB. We need a playmaker there even if it means some freshman mistakes.

I probably don't, because I would think curled up on the ground is down, and the ball was not in his hands until he was halfway rolled over.

You can't be down if you don't have the ball. Thus until he gains possession and the ball is still live he isn't down.

Had to turn the DVR off...just won't be enough offense tonight to win. I think the run game has been great this evening, it's unfortunate they're now playing from behind.

I don't know if Corey Brown would make that much of a difference, but Chris Fields is unfortunately a bit out of his element at this level.

Too bad Stoneburner dropped a sure thing TD. We really needed that and would have much more optimistic about the second half.

Overall, just really disappointed in the offensive system that doesn't maximize anyones abilities and certainly doesn't put any stress on the defense. A 17-6 deficit is almost insurmountable when you can't complete a forward pass...

I disagree. I think we are going to own the second half actually. Our defense has turned it on since the 14 point surprise buttsecks and have given up minimal yardage and only three point since. The running game is working, all that we need to change now is the passing game. If we can get that working, we'll be dominating these Sallys by the fourth quarter.

EDIT: Disagreeing about the lead being almost insurmountable, in case that was unclear.

I can't really say I am surprised by what we are seeing tonight. After all the team has been through, a young team, a young coach, first time on the road, new QBs, new receivers....

This second half will really be a tell as to what we might expect going forward....

No, it wasn't.

Wisconsin did everything they needed to do and just beat Ohio State.

This is infinitely worse - the offense looks completely inept.

Actually our running game looks pretty good with HALL and HYDE. We just don't have a passing game to complement it. Correct the passing problems
and we'll be just fine on Offense.

We looked bad in EVERY single phase in that half. We couldn't run the damn ball, couldn't pass it, and special teams gave up a TD. Meanwhile Wisconsin ran all up and down our defense. That was an absolutely awful half of football from us. The run game alone makes this half bearable along with now being down by three TDs.

Seriously, that Wisconsin game was so bad.
