tOSU at Illinois, November 28th, Cancelled

Sock it to 'em, State! Go, Bucks!

When I entered OSU (the "The" was brand new, too) in the fall of 1967, that phrase was fairly new.
What I understand about the "The" is that the plan was to build a bunch of community colleges around Ohio, such as OSU-Newark, and have folks take their first two years there and then come to the main campus for years three and four. They felt that they would not have sufficient room at the main campus for everyone. They were then approaching 50k students.

Probably right 1926. More positives, the law of large numbers suggests that some of the positives will be starters. Not that tOSU doesn't have plenty of talent in the wings, but what if the WR room is ALL positive? Unlikely, dunno. Maybe get Hartline to suit up again. 21 days (harsh compared to national measurements), basically puts the positives out until the B10 championship game. If go forward, then there might be even more players out. Definitely a conundrum. Cross your fingers and hope for the best for these young people. Go Bucks!

Yeaaah, concerning. Not sure if they're waiting to make sure there aren't more positives or something else

Could be a few reasons such as player privacy, keeping Illinois guessing, or (most likely) no idea who will test positive today or tomorrow.

The Ravens had more positive tests come back throughout this week. Stands to reason Ohio State could/would as well. I’d say there’s no guarantee we are playing tomorrow.

Glad to hear it seems like we're having the game. But I would be remiss to not bring up again how ridiculous the 21 day B1G rule is. I hated seeing it happen to other teams in the conference and will hate to see it happen to our players. How about letting them play after they stop testing positive? Is that too logical to implement?

CDC considering changing the quarantine from 14 days to 7-10. Maybe the Big will change their quarantine also?

21 days is stupid as hell for kids at this age and fitness level. My 75 year old father maybe but ffs.

As long as it isnt the OL room that gets shellacked, we'll be fine. If it's WR's we'll go Woody/Tressel ball and still win. If it's RB's, we'll air it out. If it's both, we'll punt and play Defense. Unless there's a chain reaction, I'm not scared.

Of course, teams like Bama and Clemson - let's face it there's only 3 teams with a chance to win the Nati - only have their 1 week quarantine and pass tests to get back on the field so a chain reaction would end it for Ohio State.

I believe the 21 day rationale was something along the lines of 14 days isolation/healing with next 7 days for cardiac review/clearance along with physical fitness/training. I think this was part of the “safety protocols” put in to get the votes to play. Sounds good when looking at alternative of no season, doesn’t sound as good when it becomes reality.
