Game Thread tOSU 21, TSUN 10 (Nov 21, Noon ET, ABC)

Gosh.. The anticipation is killing me... This game isn't "SUPPOSED" to mean anything. But it's THE GAME for a reason and I want to see an absolute mauling. Worse than last year. I want a score that looks something like 49-0 GOOD GUYS!

Oh and FUCK MICHIGAN!

I have read almost every post here and the sentiment is that we all want a massive ass kicking. As I sit here, I wonder why we are all like this right now, wanting blood to spew on that field, only coming from the Weasels. And I think back to the years before JT, you all remember, the Cooper days. Although he was a good coach, but failed at The Game. We went through 12 years or so listening to TSUN fans constantly and now it is our turn. Screw you TSUN, screw your fans, and screw your coach. I hate you all with a passion.

JT, kill those mf skunk bears. GO Bucks!!!

While I feel really good about this one, something is nagging deep down inside to me. I have a feeling that Michigan is going to play extremely well...

I feel the need to add to what Josh said. As far as playing to strengths/weaknesses, please be aware that tsun has almost no strengths on D. Graham is a beast for sure and Warren occasionally makes a play, but after that...they are flat out terrible. This is positively, hands down, the worst tsun defense in the last 40 years (probably longer, but I know little about the pre-Bo era). Their DB's are the worst in the B10 and their LB's suck. They've started two walk-ons for a reason. They made IU's offense look impressive. Their D made Daryl Clark look like a god. Now, we know they suck just because they are M*ch*g*n; but, in this case, they really do suck. Bad.

What's great about their defense is that you're always in the game. You can make mistake after mistake and their D will let you hang around. They've only won three B10 games the past two years for a reason--defense. Watching their D is a thing of beauty...or should I say, "Trentilicious!"

Now, don't get me wrong. They have a few athletes on their team and it is The Game (i.e., NEVER take a victory for granted). But still, there are sound reasons why we should be confident. Worry, fear, and even anxiety, are misplaced emotions for this Buckeye team against these incompetent dipsticks from up north. It should be like, "We are so much better than they are. Now, let's kick some ass!!"

I'll defer to your knowledge of scUM on both counts.

I am still concerned about Pryor passing down the middle vs anyone but scUM seems to allow a fair amount of wide open coverage busts and TP hits those pretty damn well.

I watched the Iowa and scUM game this year and the middle of the field was wide open against the scUM D! The Iowa TE (Moeki?) had two TDs down the middle and one of them I them he ran like 40 yards without even being touched!

I hope JT trusts Pryor enough to let him throw to the middle a few times. I'm all for pounding the running game, but if Pryor can't throw effectively as well, it may be way too close for comfort.

If this game is too close for comfort, I'm going to be pissed. The only time this game should be close is at the coin toss.

Couldn't agree with you more. Every possession we should have 7 points.

I think you guys might want to get ready for a wee bit of disappointment.

Personally, this is the one game a year I don't give a fuck how you do it just do it. I don't care how conservative JT gets, I don't care what Pryor looks like I don't care how much we could have won by with a better offense or any of that shit.

All I ask is St Jim the Eradicator to deliver onto the faithful the coveted W.

Just like against Iowa was suppose to be a blowout right? I'm personally expecting a close game and if it gets out of hand and we win big then that's just extra.

I think many are forgeting just how tight last years game was being played for the first half of football. We didn't pull away until in the third and that was with a team that was by far worse than the Michigan squad we'll face this year. Yeah Michigan is struggling but this is our rivalry game and Michigan is gonna come to play. Wether they'll be able to sustain a high level of play (they didn't last year) is remained to be seen.

In saying that I hope we slaughter them, but I'm not counting on it. I for one am expecting a tightly contested game untill we pull away late.

I know you are right, but it doesn't hurt to have some wishful thinking. I am always nervous at this game, you never know how it is going to go. 1 point win and I am good or 50 point win I am good.

I think you're overestimating the UM team and underestimating the shittiness of their coach.

Offer me a one point win right now and I take it.

I think, respectfully, you are missing my point. I am acutely aware that, fundamentally, in this rivalry, a win is all that truly matters.

However, in my humble opinion, this Game is different. While there have been upsets on both sides of this storied rivalry, an upset in this particular game would not be an "upset," it would be a monumental catastrophe. Pure and simple, TSUN sucks and they should not hang with us.

One has every right to expect an outcome that properly reflects one team's superiority over another. I expect tOSU Buckeyes to dominate TSUN because they are that much better. Our players are better and our coaches are better. While I will be content with any kind of win, I will not be fully satisfied if this game is dangerously close. I don't want TSUN to undermine our superiority in any way. When this game is over, I don't want to hear anyone say that Michigan almost won. I don't even want to hear the term "quality loss."

My expectations are reasonable given the greatness of the Buckeyes and the utterly pathetic state of TSUN in 2009. Michigan's current football team is a (wonderful) embarrassment to their past and they should be justly punished. I'll be content with a win, but I'll be most happy with a brutal ass-whipping.
