Ross with the trifecta leaving only Trey McDonald without points. I dont know if I've ever seen every player on the bench get into the scoring column.

Ross scored the first time he touched the ball after he became eligible.

I've been rooting for McDonald to score for several games now for that very reason lol.

At least we kept this one respectable. Moral victories.

I thought your team played hard, especially on D.

Unfortunately for you, your guards played a little *too* hard, and to say that Nebraska is sloppy with the ball is charitable.

There's developable talent there and good effort, but I am not at all sold on your coaching. Some significant fundamentals are not being communicated.

They were calling them both ways, but some of those hand check fouls were criminal to say the least. I felt bad at how quickly their front court got into foul trouble so early.

The last foul on Bo whatever his last name is was cheap though. Getting frustrated at one end because of their 23/24th TO and then slamming your arm down onto a player who has a pretty clear path to the basket.

Give Nebraska a few years in the B1G, and hopefully they can have a competitive hoops team!

I have to lay that one on their coach though. After they got the 2nd foul body checking the point guard at midcourt or less. He should of told his guys to lay off. Yet he continued to look dumbfounded as they got called for call after call doing it.

Doc Sadler should be fired after this season. He is not going to get Nebraska anywhere in the Big Ten with the style he has. This was a VETERAN Husker team that got stomped at home by OSU, and Sadler has had several seasons there now - all those guys out there getting their butts whipped were his recruits. They need a new coach who won't bore fans as much as he did in the games vs. OSU. New arena, new practice facilities, new conference ... but same old bottom-tier conference record ... a coaching change is needed in Lincoln. I know they're not the most attractive place to coach, but surely they can get somebody who will change the style of play there to something kids with talent actually want to play in.

The one thing I'll say in defense of Doc Sadler is, until this season he's labored under the onus of recruiting to a school with ZERO basketball tradition and with some of the worst facilities in D1. This year we opened a really, really nice practice facility for the basketball teams and wrestling, so I would expect recruiting to pick up some.

However, I don't know if Doc is the guy to get us to the next level. He's a great guy, but as a coach and recruiter he's just not inspiring at all.

Yesterday's game was really disappointing, but I cannot say I'm surprised at all.

With Big Ten officials it is up to the coaches and players to figure out where the strike zone is in the early innings and adjust accordingly. In the Illinois game it was clear early on that they weren't going to call any fouls. In this one, eveything was a foul. I wish there was more consistency, but for now, this is the way the game is played. :shake:

Agree with this. And I'll add that Osborne refuses to allow Doc to recruit in the sleezy AAU circuit. Doc needs those players badly. It was painfully obvious the other night.

He's recruiting with both hands tied behind his back. At least one is getting freed up with the new facilities.

I don't understand why Osborne will not let Sadler recruit in the AAU circuit. He certainly can't fire a guy if he is going to tie his recruiting hands behind his back. Also, it is not Sadler's fault for all of the turnovers. I mean the guy can only coach. He can't bring the ball up the court and start the offense. Hopefully, the new practice facility will help Nebraska in its recruiting in the future.

Saying that, Ohio State did give Nebraska possibly it's worse home beating in Nebraska basketball history however that is subject to some debate:)

It was possibly the worst home loss in Huskers history. The school media guide does not indicate whether a 37-point loss to Chicago Central in 1905 was at home or away.

Matta needs to work on just free throws like once a week with these guys. They've shot terrible almost every game from the charity line. That's going to kill us down the road
I think too many of us are ignoring this fact because of the easy victories. When we start playing some more hard-fought games this is really a concern for me. You never know what you are going to get when Smith and Thomas, not to mention our bench players. go to the free-throw line. I have some confidence in the other 3 starters.

Sadly, upon further review, it WAS the worst home loss in Nebraska basketball history.
