Ehh, maybe. UW basketball games aren't nearly as bad as football games. Probably because students have to get into a "lottery" 2 hours before games in order to get in the first few rows. That deters some of the drunks.

Then if we can't attribute classless behaviour to too much beer, the only logical conclusion is excessive stupidity on the part of Wiscy fans. And hard poop!

*I'm well aware this is ding-worthy*

As much as I hate losing to Wisconsin, to me, there is some value in tasting defeat in a season as long as the NCAA basketball. The Buckeyes now have that bitter taste in their mouth, and it'll be fresh for a while. Hopefully, the disdain for that taste will drive them to greater success by year's end.

In support of a post made earlier by BB73 regarding the fact that he thought our guys let up a little when we had the 15 point lead that is supported by Buford in the following quote.

"We let our guard down when we were up by 15," Buford said. "We stopped rebounding, we stopped defending, and they were knocking down big shots and we were missing shots. We didn't have that toughness at the end of the game."

That seemed to bother him more than being undefeated no more.
"We always wanted to stay undefeated," Buford said, "but our goal is to win the Big Ten. We're just going to try to keep going for that goal."
In support of a post made by Dryden regarding the fact that while they made their run, we did not get much support from the rims.

After scoring on 11 of their previous 12 possessions, the Buckeyes gave up back-to-back threes by Taylor, watched three shots in four possessions rim out and saw the Badgers tie the score with a 15-0 run in less than four minutes.

I guess when Matta says that he thinks he did almost everything that he could think of to stop the threes you have to give some credit to Bucky.

-- His tune may change after he watches the tape, but Matta said immediately after the game that he did not think the Buckeyes could have done anything more to defend the three-point line better.
I know that most of us who played basketball I have had a day or two when everything that you throw up seems to go through the basket and I think that is probably what happened yesterday and it wasn't just Taylor but also the "carrot top".

Carrot top shot 3-17 from 3 prior to Saturday, then proceeds to make, what, 3 or 4? Sometimes you can't miss I guess...

every once in a while the sun will shine on a dog's ass.

Let's not do the paralysis by over-analysis thing. Thankfully this team is mature enough to hopefully avoid such a situation.

Though I see your argument, I don't think it was THAT inappropriate running on the court in this case. Put it this way, the Buckeyes were not only ranked #1 but were undefeated going into Madtown dominating a lot of your previous opponents (I mean, who else beats Purdue by 23.)
If you weren't undefeated/ranked number one, there is probably a lot less of a chance that we would storm the court.

To defend Wiscy in the tourny, although it does seem like we exit early a lot, do realize that we were unfortunate enough to face the one upset underdog team that makes the run.
For example:
Cornell
Davidson
some say UNLV, but I wouldn't categorize them in this list though, yet that year we lost Brian Butch right before the tourney

But yeah, it would be nice to at least get back to the elite eight again.

While I agree with you to an extent, I'm not going to go blue in the face trying to defend Wisconsin's mediocrity in the tournament. For whatever reason, our style of play simply isn't suited for it.

1. Badgers played an excellent game, for which they deserve props.
2. Jordan Taylor has done an incredible job of elevating his game in his 3 years in Madison. Great work by him and by Bo Ryan and the Wisconsin coaching staff in getting him to this level.
3. Nasty as it was that Sullinger was spat upon, it would be a mistake to tar all Badger fans with the same brush - most fans, I'm sure, celebrated enthusiastically but responsibly after the game. I have no real problem with their storming the court - it's a compliment to the Buckeyes, after all.
4. Given that most Badger fans didn't misbehave, UW still needs to think about why opposing fans and players so frequently encounter physical abuse (spitting, batteries and coins being thrown) when visiting their campus.
5. Fuck Bucky.

I absolutely agree. Tough to weather that furious 3 point barrage that Wisky brought on, but this loss will only make them better... Which will be scary come Tourney time.

Looks like UW is going to look over the spitting incident

also, although not 100% clear, these videos do show the Buckeyes leaving the arena:
