Doug Gottleib - who is a "genious" BTW - said that Ohio State was lucky to stay in the game because of Buford making mid-range jumpers and lost because they took too many threes.

Gottlieb?

Oh you mean Colin Cowherd's "Biggest Admirer" and someone who'd just say things to create reaction (a la Cowherd).

Make sure to keep an eye on your credit cards around Gottlieb, BTW.

The thing that [censored]ed me off more than anything with this game was Bo Ryan at halftime.

"They are hand checking us pretty good and we couldnt really get the momentum going like we want to. Maybe they'll start to call that the second half and we can get some better looks."

Happy [censored]? How many ticky tacky hand fouls do you think you need to win a home basketball game? Piece of [Mark May]!

Another classy coach at another classy school with classy fans. Experienced their class in October 1st hand.

Exactly. If it takes another team shooting 64% from 3-point range down the stretch to beat the Buckeyes, they have big things ahead of them.
This.

Kudos to Wisconsin. Lots of "what if's" with this game, but they hit the big shots (all 3's, of course) when they needed to and got the W. Won't be the same story in Columbus, though. In the meantime, we have Sparty coming up at home on Tuesday and equally as tough game(maybe even tougher game) awaits at Purdue next Sunday.

To me, the big killer wasn't Taylor going off during their run, because good players can do that. If it hadn't been him, it could have just as easily been somebody else. Wisconsin is too good a team to not get a run like that -- all good teams will do it at some point in a game. The real kick in the gut was the sequence where Dieb's 3 pointer went around the rim, Sully's shot went down and back out, then Buford's 3 went down and back out. Those 8 non-points loomed big.

Yeah - I should've been quicker with the remote. I lost track of what channel I was still watching when I was trying to find 2nd half stats for the game (BTW, pretty much every major site I was checking sucked in that regard. Rather disappointing in this day and age.)

Guys, Whisky always plays us tough and we have not been too successful against them. I went back to 2000 and we are 7-14 against them. (4-4 at home, 0-9 at Whisky and 3-1 on a neutral floor (Big Ten tourney). I don't know the difference between the regular season and the tourney but we seem to have better success then....so here's to March and the butt kicking they are going to get....:)

The most ridiculous three point shooting I have seen this year. When I saw both Sully and Diebs buckets literally go half way down only to pop back out, I got worried. Badgers better pray they shoot like that at the Schott though. If they don't it's going to be an ass whoopin' just like it almost was here.

Yeah, I thought the same thing...to me that's a lack of class right there.

But as others have said, this came down to Wiscy shooting the lights out at the end. They couldn't miss and we couldn't buy a bucket. Pretty simple. What I do worry about is that the Bucks didn't really appear to have anyone step up in the last 5 minutes. Come tourney time, that will be key.

This was a disappointing game, no doubt.

With that being said, though - losing by four points at the Kohl Center, while giving up 12 threes, speaks volumes about the Buckeyes.

Their defensive intensity the first half was great, but after that 15-0 run, they just started giving them open looks and giving up some unfortunate offensive rebounds.

When they go back and look at the game film, the squad is going to have a sour taste in their mouths because they really let this one get away down the stretch. All the credit to Wisconsin, but this was one that the Bucks let slip away.

In essence, it is never fun to lose a game. However, I believe that this will be a good thing for the team going forward. Although it's an extremely cliche thing to say, better now than in the tournament.

And oh yeah, fuck Bo Ryan - who complains like that at halftime? Seriously, c'mon. Classless gesture.

Those offensive boards weren't really that unfortunate, though. It wasn't as if the shots were bricks that flew out over everyone's head. Nankivil was drawing Sullinger away from the basket, and without him down there, our rebounding is very poor. Absolutely have to get a body on people.
