There seems to me to be 3 programs available now or could be available soon where TH could have a legit shot at winning a national championship. USC is open now. Texas and Georgia could be open soon. One could argue that Miami and/or USCe has that potential as well but in the case of Miami in particular there are pretty big structural issues that need fixing first. Others w/ vacancies that are NC caliber.........perhaps Maryland although I sort of doubt it. And by NC caliber with the Terps I mean a good recruiting base and the power of Nike East.
I've said for years that I can't believe Georgia has stuck with Richt. With the talent in that state there is no excuse for not playing for a NC every 10 years at least. If that school wants to win a NC then they really need to move on, Richt isn't getting it done and there isn't any excuse.
If I am TH I would hold out for a school that gives me a legit chance at NC caliber teams. He seems like a NC caliber coach so why accept less than that potential from a school? In just his first year he is already walking tall at UH, has them undefeated and in the top 25. Why move in to a mid tear P5 school and start all over unless you can invest yourself long term and win a NC? I'd like to see him hold out for a top tier school, there isn't any reason to be in a hurry.
