As thin skinned as he is this actually makes sense. It's not like taking into account Twitter criticism is actually going to help him be a better coach or do anything other than waste his time.

I guess, to me the fact that this story got out, gives a bad perception of a thin skinned, and weak minded HC. Not characteristics you want for a program like UT, who has lived off of braggadocio and ego for years. A real UT coach would still be bragging about Vince Young, and tweeting about days of yore

Twitter is largely a machine for stupid. A guy getting off Twitter should be celebrated. He may not be a coaching mensa, but getting off twitter should not be one of the things held against him.

Agree completely with your first sentence. The rest really hasn't worked any better for UT than the Yankee version of it has for UM. Cutting out what isn't essential and focusing on ridding UT of its sense of entitlement and instilling some toughness into the program might be a better approach. To the extent that Twitter is necessary for recruiting these days, get some grad assistant with lower IQ, higher EQ, and thicker skin than Mensa to ghost tweet.

Texass fans are also known as the architects of creating moral victories in college football. OU beats them 6 out of the last 8 RRS meetings, they still brag about how "close" they played us in 2016 and '17.
