Wouldn't you think that a creator God with an omniscient eye, the collective wisdom of the ages, the power to create worlds, would have more to do than worry about your silly football game?

What arrogance to assume that The Father showed up to watch you play.

Ummm... what do you think omniscient means?

:wink2:

Anyway, I don't have a particular like or dislike for Tebow. But, I do hate the Steelers, and as such, that was amusing to watch.

(And actually from a football perspective, when his first option was there, I thought he did a good job recognizing it and getting the ball out quickly with a reasonably compact motion. Other times the big wind up is there, I'd like to see them do some more pump fakes to let the defenders "overbite" on the wind up a bit. But all in all the Broncos did a great job of running the ball effectively and mostly getting positive plays in the run game even when it was well defended to set up the single coverage. I don't think the Broncos can score with the Patriots, but, the Pat D is gonna have to stop Tebow and McGahee on the ground better than the Steelers did)

All seeing, Time - Warner and Dish + the BBC and live feeds from beyond deep space.

I actually liked/like Tebow as a player, but to then grant him a stage from which to spout primitive philosophical sentiments is silly at best.

I fully expect the Pats to outscore Denver next week as well. But congrats to Denver for winning last night. Tebow still didn't complete 50% of his passes, but the ones he DID complete were big gainers. 31 yard per completion average. Even if you remove the last completion I think he would still have averaged 25 yards per completion. :yow1:

Well... if he lost a whole bunch of games, his stage would be much smaller. I guess my point is, he's earned the stage, it hasn't been granted to him. My "postion" on his "primitive philosophical sentiments" are well documented. Having said that, it doesn't bother me. I'm no more going to make a spiritual role model from a football player any more than I'd take political wisdom from Morgan Freeman, Arnold Schwarzenegger or Jane Fonda. Doesn't mean I didn't like Shawshank Redemption, The Terminator or Barbarella. (Ok, I didn't really like Barbarella from a, shall we say critical perspective, but, when you're 12, home sick from school and some idiot local channel throws that on for the 1pm Movie, it makes an impression)

From my perspective, beating the Steelers can only be a good thing. That the various controversies around Tebow, both his ability to be an NFL QB as well along with his spirtitual inclinations, seem to add to the butt hurt amuses me all the more.

If he can manage to beat the Steelers, Pats, and Ravens in three consecutive games, I will buy a Tebow jersey to wear to my next OSU football game. I will also make a donation of $500 to BP in Ubet's name.

If he can manage to slay the three headed monster in the AFC, I'll make a $100 donation to BP in Tebow's name.

What's really awesome about this to me is that it is entirely possible that Denver could do it. Not likely of course.... but after last night, I believe it could actually happen.

I remember several years ago, while working for tOSU, most of the staff are Indians fans and they were in a pennant race. My Colorado Rockies were like 9 games back or something stupid with about a month to go. A couple guys asked me in jest about the Rockies position in the division. I said something along the lines of "The Rockies would have to win every single game the rest of the year to make the playoffs."

And it happened!

(The Rockies made it to the World Series only to have the wheels blown off by the Red Sox in a sweep. But they made it to the dance when everyone thought it was impossible.)
